What's your favorite MS fishery? Lake and River? I live on the Ross Barnett Reservoir now and have really been enjoying learning it probably my favorite. A couple of my favorite of the smaller state lakes are Lake Mike Conner and Lake Mary Crawford. My favorite river is Pearl River although I also really like Jourdan River. What are yours?

Been upgrading rods and reels this year. Upgraded a couple of baitcasters now wanna upgrade some spinning reels. Can anyone suggest a good quality spinning reel? I'll pretty much be using it for soft plastic techniques Shakey head, Carolina rig, drop shot etc.

Hey guys thanks for all the great feedback. They have spincast setups now but as their interest in bass fishing increases I was thinking I would upgrade them to spinning reels then maybe baitcasting gear once they get the hang of the spinning reels and start to learn some tecniques using it first.

My son and step son are becoming more and more interested in bass fishing. My son is 8 and step son 9. I've been considering upgrading them to a spinning reel and maybe easing them into a bait caster. What size rod/action would you recommend for a 8 or 9 year old?

Anybody been doing any good on the Rez lately? I had been doing well but the last several weeks have been super tough for me.

Any Bass Tracker Pro Team 190 Owners here? Considering buying a 175 or 190 later this year. Kind of leaning towards the bigger one tho. If you are a 190 owner what do you think about it? Would you recommend it?

Yea I looked at them at BP in Pearl, MS they mostly have the 4 strokes but they do have some 2 strokes on hand as well. I fish 3-4 times a week when I can keep my old boat running so fuel consumption is somewhat important to me.

How fast does it run? Any idea what kinda fuel mileage it is?

I'm going to be purchasing a new BassTracker Pro Team 175 around the year and trying to decide whether I wanna go with the Mercury 60 HP 4 Stroke or the 75 HP 2 Stroke. Which one would you recommend and why? Pros and Cons?

Yea from what I've heard you've got to know somebody to get in over there. My subdivision has a private ramp on the Rez so guess I'll have to be happy with that lol.

I've always heard a lot of good things about bass fishing the upper MS River but what about the lower. Any of you guys ever done in bass fishing on it in MS around Vicksburg or anywhere? Was just wondering if I could find some good fishing off of it in some backwaters or something?

I've lived in Madison about 2 years now but haven't owned a boat since I had been living here until a couple of months ago. Been spending a lot of time on the Rez since getting my boat but still learning it most success I've had so far has been up above 43 bridge.

I hope this one doesn't end up there that quickly never can tell tho

Thanks for the replies guys side imaging sounds more like what I'm after. Any reccomendations on a side imaging unit? Im on a bit of a budget so probably whatever the cheapest model that has side imaging in a Hummingbird or Lowrance.

Can someone explain the difference in down imaging and side imaging? Pros and cons? Looking to upgrade my electronics.
