Fishing the Whopper Plopper and Toadrunner
I tried to find a few answers regarding this and could not find what I was looking for, so pardon me if this topic has been discussed before. I am having major issues with both my WP and Booyah Toadrunner, both lures utilize a spinning "tail" to make noise/bubbles. My issue is that the lure constantly spins on retrieve on both a baitcaist and spincast and will cause the line to spin/bunch up if any slack is present. I have tried varying the speed and this does solve some of the issue but hard to tell when the lure is at a distance. I use the Palomar knot if that matters and tie directly to the lure. *** Update - Problem has been fixed (see bottom post), thank you everyone who responded with suggestions!!!!

Topwater blowup whopper plopper!
Debris meaning limbs/logs and random tree branches not garbage. I don't have a means to fish other than Bank fishing, so if it gets stuck out there its gone unless I go swimming.

Topwater blowup whopper plopper!
Got plenty of those around and have never thought about using it. I’m just scared to lose it since there is always a metric ton of debris to snag on.

Weed killer ruins ponds
My dad has a childhood friend who had a very similar problem, they solved it years ago by introducing some carp to the pond. As far as I know that cleaned it up as I have never seen a cattail there since I started going and its been a productive lake for us.

Crazy weekend.
Awesome Job! That's right at my PB and mine was caught on the famous last cast as well. Going to start calling all my throws "My Last Cast".

Topwater blowup whopper plopper!
I got the WP about a month back because of multiple recommendations and I have not seen one of this amazing blow-ups everyone talks about, just 2 fish (Brim and 8" tiny bass). I mostly throw it early morning/late evening since the daytime temps are high 90s. I will give the WP credit on the hooks, they are so sharp that I catch every leaf or piece of pinestraw in the lake HAHA.

FINALLY, COOLER TEMPS
Glad to see others had bites over the cool weekend. All I did was work out my arms!!!!

Bite sucked today
Agreed! I went out to a pond that has always treated me right on prior trips, 630a to about 930a and absolutely nothing. I tried both my Frog and Whopper Plopper, Senko worm, Black/Blue Chatterbait, and not one attempt at a bite despite seeing blow-ups and turns all around me. Temps even dropped and was in the mid 70's (been upper 90's) with blue bird skies. My last 2 after work trips have fared the same as well. I almost announced my retirement from Bass Fishing ?

Set my PB bar fairly high!
Black and Blue Chatterbait with a RageCraw (Green pumpkin) trailer. I was working it on the bottom like a jig, just popping it good and letting it sink. This was around 10am in South MS so like 200 degrees, so I was hitting deep water from the bank. Oh man a ticket hook-up! I actually live not to far from the Troop A HQ and yes there is a lot of great fishing in LA, but this dinosaur was actually caught in MS, just outside H'burg.

Set my PB bar fairly high!
Was out fishing the other day with my brother and a friend of his and landed my PB LMB 6.89lbs! Just wanted to share it with the group since I am beyond pumped about it and don't have to many fishing friends to share the great news with. Just wanted to brag a little ? haha Honestly I thought I snagged a log/limb and was mad about possibly loosing a lure when out of no where my line ran to my left and pulled drag! I have recently gotten back into fishing about a year ago as something to do with my son like my father did with me, but at no point did I ever expect to see or catch a Bass this large.

Hello from the South!
Now, Now my wife would kill me if I gave away the Roux recipe ? , surprisingly I have only been to Mardi Gras 1 time (NEVER AGAIN) as for French Quarter stories I would need a book!!! You sure can bet on me sharing pictures. Just have to catch something other than aggressive brim haha

Hello from the South!
Figured this would be a good place to jump in! First of all Thank You everyone for all the post's about reels, I bet I have spent a week reading various opinion's on this reel or that one, before ever becoming a member! I have recently gotten back into fishing about a year ago as something to with my then 3 y/o son and to take advantage of a get together on a big lake (False River). I even caught what I would guess to be my PB right off the bat (no scale) and I was hooked! Now, I grew up fishing rivers and creeks with my dad and just used whatever he handed me, so I had no real knowledge, but when I decided to get back into fishing I picked up a spinner combo because that was all I had ever thrown. I never realized just how much there was to Bass fishing! Right now I mostly fish off banks where I can find lakes on google maps, I am working on fixing up the old family boat (14' Alum Jon) and trailer so I can bring it home with me and really hit some water!
