About Me
Originally from Illinois and settled in Oklahoma after retiring from the Army. (USSOCOM) Retired from my second career (teaching) in 2017 and I'm now fishing full time and contribute what I can to maintaining marine ecosystems.
Hey A-Jay, long time no see! (Had family Covid issues.) We're not active here because of the wind. Every time I think I can launch my Yaks I'm looking at 25-30 mph winds. (Typical Oklahoma spring.)
Thanks for sharing A-Jay! Heat injuries are no joke. I carry Liquid I.V. (Electrolyte Powder) as part of my vehicle aid bag and IFAK (kayak). It's good stuff and it works.
Central region, Middle East, November 13, 1995.
A member of our team, Sergeant First Class David Warrell, Special Forces Weapons Sergeant from Fayetteville, North Carolina. He is remembered on the wall at the Special Operations Memorial, MacDill AFB.
You are not forgotten brother.
I hear ya. Even before I was retired I stayed off the water on Memorial Day weekend, too much drama for me. Now that I'm retired I can let the working stiffs have the weekends. Today I'll probably just sit in my truck and talk with that girl on OnStar.
The National Moment of Remembrance is an annual event that asks Americans, wherever they are at 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day, to pause for a duration of one minute to remember those who have died in military service to the United States.
"For the fallen to not be forgotten, we must be their voice. This Memorial Day, remember to tell their stories."
MANSIONS of the LORD
To fallen soldiers let us sing
Where no rockets fly nor bullets wing
Our broken brothers let us bring
To the mansions of the Lord
No more bleeding, no more fight
No prayers pleading through the night
Just divine embrace, eternal light
In the mansions of the lord
Where no mothers cry
And no children weep
We shall stand and guard through the angels sleep
While through the ages safely keep
The mansions of the lord
Rapala Risto Raps, RR5/RR7. These cranks have landed me a lot of fish and when I first heard they were being discontinued I stocked up. (sitting on 300+ NIB) I call them a Shad Rap on steroids.
I caught my first bass on that very worm! I haven't used the Creme worm in many years, but I still have some NOS vintage 60s Creme worms in the package.
