Muddy, Thnx a million I needed that. The Radio Guy
  3. I also feel your pain. I have Actually printed out quite a lot of the articles on the site to read when the net is not available, also before i go to bed. I am not a ver expirenced fisherman, but gosh do I love it. I know a lot of you guys don't like this but I always take a dozen worms out with me, just in case I am having an aweful day. I throw a few cast with worm bait, catch a fish or two, then go back to practice. I guess this really doesn't help you much, but it sure helps me (ADD). And I do mean only a few cast. I really don't like live bait, except when I go out with someone who has absolutly no idea and really doesn't want to learn what little i can teach. Soooo.... whatev.... sorry to take up the space :-/ The Radio Guy

Any major feats, fishing or other wise this weekend? I need some good news. Bad news from the home front a couple of hours ago. My cousins brother in law's, and a friend of mine, one year old son died in his sleep last night. Jackson had a lot of health issues but seemed to be doing well that afternoon and evening. Then my best friend, almost brother called and told me his dad is not doing well at all, lukemia, and an infection from chemo. He is struggling. Some one please have some good news. My weekend started and was going so well. Sorry for the downer.... The Radio Guy
  6. I use some kind of sound when I fish the rivers and streams of the Missouri Ozarks. Personally I think a rattle or even beads with a soft plastic rigs, tend to attract fish from out of my exact fishing zone. I don't know if they really help, but it gives me confidence, and I feel I catch more fish. Hope that helped. The Radio Guy
  7. My dad just started out an dfishes a lot of ponds. Will these work for him? I fish rivers and strams here and the Ozarks, I use different tackle than him. I soooo wish some one had told me this when i started noot all that long ago. The Radio Guy
  8. Welcome to the best fishing site on the ebtire web!!!!!!!!!!! The Radio Guy
  9. This could be a really dumb question, but here it is... Are the fish attractants and sprays or scents that you spray onto your lures that much of a help. I have never used them, but I own a bottle of attractant, don't know why I haven't used it yet, but I haven't. So anywho. do the sprays and dips really work? The Radio Guy
  10. Play golf with out sunglasses. That has helped me
  11. There was only one time that i have been fishing and not had fun. It was an august morning here in the ozarks and I was so hung over from the night before that I don't even know why i agreed to go. None the less, once I got into the river it was better, but i was so easily distrcted that I wassn't fishing well an ddidn't catch anything worth while. I do beleive we canned the morning and went back out in the evening for a little night fishing and partying around the campfire. Those are always fun! The Radio Guy
  12. There is an article in In Fisherman that goes over different type of lures while fly fiching for bass. I can't recall what month it was, when I get home i will see if I still have it and repost. The Radio Guy
  13. I DID SAY WE COOK OUT A LOT, CRAPPIE AND TROUT. THESE ARE VERY PLENTIFUL ON THE NIANGUA AND BETTER FOR THE FISHERY
  14. I am fairly certain it is to protect the spawn. Right now you can pretty much throw anything at the bank and catch something. So yes I feel the reg. is probably appropriate. Just wanted Others take on it.. Th Radio Guy
  15. So I am doing this local radio thing. Do you think Fish would do something with me, or do you think it would be a waste of my time asking? The Radio Guy
  16. Couldn't agree more!!!!!
  17. Whe the MOJO gets back around to travel. Send it The Radio Guy's way. Nothin better than some Missouri Ozark MOJO! In all seriousness... What you all have done is absolutly heart warming. way to go to all involved. Give me some more background, I would love to touch on this topic during my next "Fish Tales" show. which btw, will be tuesday at 8:20pm cst. Nice job, The Radio Guy
  18. I practice catch and release pretty much all of the time. I personally just love to be out fishing, catching and then letting them go. Right now in the Missouri Ozarks, we can't keep any black bass. The law is to release any black bass from March 1 through now the date has eluded me, I think it's April 15, on all streams and reives through out the ozarks. What is your all's take on this rule? Mine personally is whatever. but there are a few in the area that are totally against this rule. The Radio Guy
  19. I couldn't agree more, Nick. A friend of my dads actually gave me a whole box full of lures and other tackle, that is how i aquired some of my more high dollar cranks. The Radio Guy
  20. Welcome to "The Site". The Radio Guy
  21. O.k, So here is the idea that I am working on for next tuesday. The main topic is going to, of course your fish story, but the secondary topic will be river verse lake. I know this is a broad topic, but I really think it needs to be broad so I can get the callers involved. The way it will flow is, i will start out with my recent trip, which will probably be a short trip to a local river or stream, or maybe the trout park. I will tell the listeners about what I used where I was and how I did. Now if I get a few callers, then I will prod them into telling me why they prefer, fishing on rivers and streams or out on the lake, then get them to tell me why. So the show will be on at about 8:20 PM cst. it will not be streamed yet due to the fact that I will be using music as filler. So if you all would care to be involved, there are ways for me to do this. You can e-mail me through this site and i will reply. Thanks again. The Radio Guy
  22. Congratulations from a very jealous member!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. The only time i peg is when I am fishing zone three at Bennett Spring for trout. This helps me out because i can put a somewhat heavy weight to drag the bottom, but yet keep the bait, in this case Power Bait Dough, in the strike zone. Outside of that I tend to not peg. Now i have a follow up question: Isn't pegging sort of the same as a carolina rig? It kind of accomplishes the same thing, at least to me. The Radio Guy
  24. All of the advise given is great. You need to go through all of the right channels. Start with the history of the lake, find out why there was a dam, what it was used for and things like that. Next, involve the media, local media that is. If the local media can take on this idae as a bleeding heart story or a long term feature story, that would be great for your cause. Your local Conservation Department or Natural Resource office would also be able to help you out greatly. See what they have to say about it. Also, old people are great when it comes to things like this, when i say old i mean like 70 and older, they can help you with stories and things like this when you do go your local Representative and Senator. definitly get your local media involved in this project, it is free advertising for you and a great human interest story for them. Keep us posted. Brendon, the radio guy
  25. You all got me thinking about this topic. It really erks me to pick up fishing line every darn place that i fish. I fish off the shore a lot and i cannot beleive the amount of fishing line i can aquire in a week. Is it good practice to take used line and put in a plastic zip lock then into the trash. i hope so cuz that is what i do. the radio guy btw, this is another great topic for my show, tuesdays and thursdays regional radio for the ozarks, kjel 103.7
