Stupid Tube Rigging Help
One of the advantages of a stupid tube is that you can use heavier gear. I use similar to what is throw a TRig on. There's a technique to it in rocks. Some people just drag and break off a lot. Not saying I don't lose to rocks, but I lose less than I used to.

Was he more successful with an open hook?? LoL

Stupid Tube Rigging Help
Sounds like the camera man doesn't rig/fish it right. My hookup to land is near 100%. And I rarely break off.

BuCoo Casting Rods
You're not crazy far, pm me if you're in town and we can go out on the Triton. Best Swim Jig rod I've found, given my preferences. https://cajunrods.com/collections/black-bayou™-large-species-freshwater-rods

6' UL Lure Casting Woes
Yep, sounds about exactly what I was thinking of!

BuCoo Casting Rods
Yeah, big red flag for me personally. I throw swim jigs where a lot of people throw frogs. LoL.

Are Bass Pro brand rods and reels any good?
Well said!

Are Bass Pro brand rods and reels any good?
No wonder I don't like them.

Too much tackle…what would you use?
The trick is finding that handful of lures. I had to pay to play in both dollars and time. LoL

Struggling Lately - Where to Fish Next
Are you paddle trolling? If not why can't you hold your rod?

Fly tying....getting back into it.
What makes it Calcasieu style? I looked on Google briefly but didn't find much.

BuCoo Casting Rods
Can't help you but I understand the confusion. That's light for a swim jig rod.

6' UL Lure Casting Woes
Hard to describe with typing, but you can get extra distance by whipping your rod around to build momentum with centrifugal force. Part of it may also be that your rod doesn't load properly, as you said it's an inexpensive combo.

Boat takes forever to plane
So you altered something in the trim system and now it's not working as before.... That may warrant re-researching.

6' UL Lure Casting Woes
I would lean towards a longer rod. But I would also experiment with more exotic casting techniques.

Too much tackle…what would you use?
That's is a great feeling! Though, honestly, I'm still spending a lot. But instead of buying ten different things to try, I'm buying nine proven things and one wildcard.

Too much tackle…what would you use?
I have a HUGE pile of tackle that's probably never getting wet again because I found what works for me. Unfortunately, I had to buy and try a lot to find those things. Thankfully, the money I spend now is mostly on productive baits. I said mostly because I still experiment, it's fun for me.

Anyone ever order anything from southern reel outfitters
Oh you're fine, was poking at A-Jay. Good on you for checking.

Stretchy Fluorocarbon Line Recommendations...???
Pline Floroclear is the stretchiest line Ive ever used. It was kind of fun to fish with because I never knew whether I hooked into a perch, a pike, or a bass. Ultimately,I decided that the stretch was ridiculous and abandoned it but it sounds like that's actually what you want.

Clearly a scam then. ?

Trolling motor: Should I buy?
I wouldn't buy a new TM without a warranty unless it was cheap AF.

.410 Recommendations
Thankfully she's stronger than most women, but the point is taken. I was going to have her squeeze a few courtesy rounds through it before purchasing just to make sure. She wants a sidearm, so a shotgun isn't an option unless maybe she likes a coach gun style with a holster.

The Fishing pant; (outside the box). SWIM TIGHTS?!
I also fish fully covered, got too much ginger in me to handle sunlight. I picked up a set of sun pants and long sleeve shirt both by Columbia and really like them. I'm barely warmer than just a t-shirt and shorts. And on those muggy nasty days, I feel like I'm a bit cooler.
