How old is the leader? Sounds like it needs to be replaced. if it’s new & in good shape is there a short “pigs tail” where it broke off?

I fish weightless 5” senkos on the nrx 894c with a lews pro-ti. Casts great & really drives the hook home. Also the extra power helps fishing in thick weeds

the thumb bar can be replaced. However i have not seen one sold separately from the frame. Also the o-ring comes off the side plate & is readily available anywhere parts are sold.

It’s a great rod & very sensitive. You may need to try different weight/size reels on it until you find the right balance. When balanced the weight is not an issue.

Try southwest parts & dads ole tackle. Mike’s reel repair in Canada has had stuff I couldn’t find anywhere else in the past.

I use them regularly in 75’-125’ jigging for lake trout. I use 3/4-1oz jig heads.
