Daiwa Tatula 100/150
I have both, and like them equally well. I like the added length of the handle on the 150, but the 100 is more palmable and lighter due to the smaller size. Can’t go wrong with either.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
A bunch of stuff lately, 2 Daiwa Legalis spinning reels and 2 Tatula rods to go with them. Several lures and other stuff but here’s what came in today. Plan to use this setup mainly for mid depth cranks and 5” swim baits, but maybe some bladed jigs/spinnerbaits. Spooled it up with some 12lb fluorocarbon for now. These 1/4oz finesse jigs from Brain Schmidt Baits. And a couple Ima finesse poppers.

Rapala Floating Minnows & Creek Fishing
Growing up fishing small creeks and rivers, there was only about 4 lures you ever needed. Panther Martin spinners, rebel crawdad, curly tail grub, and Rapala minnows. I always used a 5’ spinning rod with a light action and 6lb stren lo vis green mono. I used the original floating minnow and the jointed version of the Rapala. Mostly the silver color like the ones you got from eBay.

Fishing gear you think is worth the price, or not..?
The Daiwa Tatula (cork grips) line of rods (spinning and casting) and Tatula casting reels. Both can be had for around $100-$120 and well worth it in my opinion. I have the Tatula 100 reel in 6.3:1, and 2 in 8.1:1. 3 of the casting rods, 7’0” M R crankbait rod, 2 6’10” MH F casting rods, and 2 of the spinning rods, both 6’8” M. The rods are really nice, have a good feel and balance and nice guides. The reel is great too, much better than the Fuego CT I got to start off with. The TWS has helped me tremendously. Very impressed so far.

Pretty much the same deal at the one here.

swim baits
I just picked up some from a local source, hopefully going to try them out this weekend. This is the 3.5” version and a Buckeye J Will head. I’ve got a 5” version from another local source I’m going to try as well.

Right Handed vs Left Handed People...
I reel with my right hand, both casting and spinning. Throw, bat, golf, and use a hammer left handed. Shoot and write with my right. Left hand/arm is stronger/dominant. Right eye is dominant and right hand seems to have the more finesse control. I’m weird I guess.

New War eagle Jig???
Yep. Saw it this morning. The natural and phantom brown colors look good.

Smallmouth fishing at night?
We use to have a lot of fun throwing a Jitterbug on the river at night in late summer. Smallmouth would crush them.

what size tube jigs and heads for river?
I use the Owner phantom weighted tube hooks for the “stupid tube rig” and usually use a 3 3/4” tube most of the time. Sometimes in creeks and shallower rivers I’ll use a 2 1/2” or 3” tube on a ball head jig.

Rostertails are underrated 100%
Panther Martin is my go to in line spinner for creek/river bass fishing. Catches smallmouth, red eye, bluegill, and trout. I keep meaning to take some with me to the lake but I always forget to get them out of my river box.

ned rig weight
I’ve been using the Owner block heads in 1/16 and sometimes 1/8oz.
