Suggest a 4th rod to round out my setup...
I don’t really disagree.... but here I am? Haha. But really, I have a specific purpose in mind for everything I’ve picked up, just not the coastal reel. Maybe I’ll just fish the new gear for a little while, and fill that spot when I run into a need.

Suggest a 4th rod to round out my setup...
As some of you may have read, I am kind of jumping in both feet on replacing/updating some of my older rigs. I thought I was finished for right now, but then got seduced by one of the Blue Daiwa Coastal SVs. ? Sooo... now I need to pair a rod with it. What would be a good rod to round out this 4 rig setup? Revo SX / Carbonlite 2.0 7’ MH/F Revo SX / Carbonlite 2.0 7’ M/F Tatula CT / Tatula 6’10” MH/F Coastal SV TW / ........... I could move the Tat CT to one of my older 6’6” M/F Berkeley rods and throw the Coastal on the Tat 6’10”? Or should I add a moderate action rod to the mix?

2020 Daiwa Tatula SV vs. Daiwa Elite
Can you change just the knobs on the Daiwa handles? If so, can you point me to where they are available? (Not much immediately turning up in a search other than power knobs)

That would be nice. Because those skinny knobs may keep me from pulling the trigger on the coastal.

2020 Daiwa Tatula SV vs. Daiwa Elite
I wonder why they opted for the small handle knobs on the coastal? if it had the larger knobs I think I’d be sold (I have big mits).

2020 Daiwa Tatula SV vs. Daiwa Elite
10-4. I thought the coastal was a 100 frame, which should be pretty close to the CT palm wise? Just has my eye. I don’t have my CT yet, but for about 60 bucks more, I’m wondering if that coastal wouldn’t be a better buy.

2020 Daiwa Tatula SV vs. Daiwa Elite
So realistically, no real ADVANTAGE over the CT for freshwater other than looking sweet, ha.

2020 Daiwa Tatula SV vs. Daiwa Elite
Just so I’m clear.... the Coastal SV TW would make a great all around bass reel, right? 100 sized frame, 150 sized SV spool. would it potentially throw light tackle better than a Tat CT?

Welp... the coastal Sv TW is one sweet looking reel. I had not put any thought into it until now. You people just keep spending my money for me.

Updating Gear after 10-12 Years...
Well, I guess I'm glad I snagged the Carbonlite/Revo SX combos... I tried to show it to a buddy just now and it is no longer on the BP site? Maybe it will return? Or maybe it's gone?

Daiwa TATULA 6'10" MH/F Thoughts?
I’d try it...... If I had a 30mph wind on my back. ?

Daiwa TATULA 6'10" MH/F Thoughts?
I have been pretty good with with them... I’m just a touch rusty now. I’m in my 30s. I started throwing ABU 5000s at smallmouth when I was 8 or 9, float fishing the Current River in SE MO with my grandfather. Have to be quick, have to be accurate. I lost a lot of lures, and picked a bunch of nests on that river though. ? I threw a Mini King (1/8) a little yesterday on a 6’6” Berkley M/F and a 5000 some yesterday, so I feel like a 3/16 T rig or a 1/4 spinner on the new combos shouldn’t be a problem. Am I correct in thinking the Revo SX and the Tat CT might throw the light stuff easier than my 5000s?

Daiwa TATULA 6'10" MH/F Thoughts?
Yea, I was dead set on only Tatulas or Furys until I saw those combos. In Essence, you could say that you get the Carbonlite rods for about $10. But I'm still going to try the 6'10" Tat.

Daiwa TATULA 6'10" MH/F Thoughts?
Well, I grabbed the Carbonlites in the Revo SX combo for $159. Too good to pass up. The Carbonlite 2.0s are spoken very highly of by a few guys I trust, so we’ll see. But yea, I have high hopes for the Tat 6’10” being a very solid all purpose rod. I have two holes that aren’t really accessible by boat that require a bit of a walk, so I usually only carry one or two rods in. Hoping the 6’10” will fill that role well and take on whatever I need to throw that day.

Daiwa TATULA 6'10" MH/F Thoughts?
Yes, I think I’m going to order the 6’10” from them today. I’ve got a 7’ M/F and a 7’ MH/F Carbonlite 2.0 coming, so hopefully the the 6’10” Tat will compliment them well. (Yes I’ve gone a bit nuts this week updating my gear but YOLO I guess).

Daiwa TATULA 6'10" MH/F Thoughts?
I could just be missing something, but I guess Daiwas site just isn’t complete. The only XFs I see are spinning rods.

Daiwa TATULA 6'10" MH/F Thoughts?
Ah ok. Just can't find it on their site.

Daiwa TATULA 6'10" MH/F Thoughts?
Hmm, 7'1" H, you must have the Tatula Elite? The 7'1" Extra Fast is the XT, correct? I considered the XT's, but I really like the full cork on the Tatula (non XT).

6.3:1 Or 7.3:1 For Versatile Reel?
I pretty much knew this^^ WAS the answer when I posted, haha. But gave it a shot anyway.

It'll wear a Tatula CT.

6.3:1 Or 7.3:1 For Versatile Reel?
99% of the fishing in my life has been on 5.3s, ha. So either one is going to be a change for me. I feel like the 7.3 is a safe choice, as I don't throw too many deep diving cranks. However, I do throw spinners a lot, and I've hear people say they think the 7.3s are too fast for them (hope that's not the case). I guess I can always just keep one of my older ABUs around for when I feel the need to crank one deep (or have an excuse to pick up a lower geared Tat CT... *sigh*)
