Daiwa Knobs Too Thin
I ordered 3 sets of cork knobs for $26.

Daiwa Knobs Too Thin
Well actually, I think the one on the left is the kind that is on my Coastals. Too flat for me.

Daiwa Knobs Too Thin
They sill look kind of flat to me.. But they'd definitely be better.

Daiwa Knobs Too Thin
Might do that. I think I'll place an order on Ali too. For $9 a set for knobs, I can wait a few weeks.

Yep, same knob just EVA. I think I may like the cork look with the blue Coastals. I just noticed they are quoting about a month lead time. UGH.

I never really search Alixpress, but I will if it's the same handle. Either way, it worries me that it might be junk.

Well that's kind of interesting. Looks available to ship. Wonder what the length is?

Gotcha. What do you think of the SLPs? Are they a good big larger than the skinny diawa knobs? I'm eyeing this... I just have no idea what the quality will be. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-Daiwa-Abu-Garcia-Lews-Okuma-reel-carbon-fiber-handle-EVA-knob-106mm/114229012245?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=414482283145&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

Agreed. Those are sold out at TT. Now I'm curious what you swapped your old CT knobs for, ha.

Daiwa Knobs Too Thin
Ok, so after some use, I can't get used to the knobs on my Coastal SVs or the Tat 100. They are too small and thin for me. I'm OK with the Tat CT knobs. The SLP knobs are crazy $$$. I can see putting $50 into just knobs. There are some complete handles with EVA knobs on Ebay for about $25, but I'm unsure of the quality of those. Are there any other options? I'd like something closer to the knobs on a REVO SX.

Set up for Weightless and Weighted plastics.
Tatula 6’10 MH/F is my current weightless Senko rod. It’s pretty much spot on. Throws a 5” Senko on a 4/0 hook like a bullet. Wouldn’t hurt my feelings if it was a full 7’, but it does well.

Need help with choosing new rods
The Tatula rods are probably one of the better “bang for your buck” rods around. As far as how accurate to rating they are, hard to say. As with all rods, it’s purely subjective. I have a MH/F, and a H/F, and they they are pretty much what I expected. I’d say slightly heavier, and faster rating wise than Dobyns.

Need help with choosing new rods
Try a Tatula or a Tatula Elite. I ordered a couple of the Ark Invoker Pros to try, but sent them back. Just wasn’t impressed with the fit and finish. I also didn’t think either of them were notably light for what they were. The blanks are supposed to be great though.

Daiwa TATULA 6'10" MH/F Thoughts?
Probably look good on a Dobyns Champion too.

Daiwa TATULA 6'10" MH/F Thoughts?
Pitched some jigs with the 7’1” this morning on a little secret lake. It did great. Never really needed to get into the power of the rod real hard (unfortunately), but it’s plenty sensitive, and the action is just about spot on for pitching a 3/8 jig and craw.

Daiwa TATULA 6'10" MH/F Thoughts?
The 6'10 is great. I've used the heck out of it the past few weeks as a Senko rod. But to me, and where I fish, it's not a frog or jig rod. I'm not saying it won't work, just that In some of the structure/weeds I'm likely to toss a jig into, I need more control over the fish than the 6'10 can muster. ETA: Sorry, I just remembered the title of the thread was the 6'10". We've kind of drifted to talking about the 7'1" Heavy.

Daiwa TATULA 6'10" MH/F Thoughts?
Good stuff. I’m sure it’s gonna be a great rod. How I’m gonna resist a 7’1” MH, and a 7’ Glass, I have no idea.

Daiwa TATULA 6'10" MH/F Thoughts?
Yea, going to tie on a 3/8" jig and trailer this evening and cast it some. That'll tell me a lot more. Since you've had it a while, are you comfortable pulling frogs trough moderately heavy pads/grass with it? Plenty of power?

Daiwa TATULA 6'10" MH/F Thoughts?
Just came in this morning. USPS literally crushed one end of the shipping tube, so that had me a little worried, but the rod seems to be OK. Nice rod. I can't tell if it's not quite as heavy as I was expecting, or if the tip isn't quite as fast as I was expecting... But I learned from the 6'10 to not judge these rods too quick. I'm planning on this being my go-to jig and frog rod for right now, and I think it has enough umph for that. It's no broomstick though. Hopefully I'll get to pitch some jigs this weekend.

Daiwa Tatula CT "whirrrrrring" noise during retrieve
Sounds exactly like my issue.

10-4. So just ignore it and fish? Ha.

This is why I may try lapping the gears as an experiment. I wouldn't normally be a proponent of it, but it COULD possibly help if the teeth aren't machined quite right.
