  1. i have to take my wife to Allentown PA next week for a checkup, i have been to Cabela's and Bass pro shops, but never to a Sportsman warehouse, there is one in Warminster PA, curious if anyone been there. is it worth a extra 90 min drive there. are they similar to Cabela's or BPS for inventory, mainly looking for a Daiwa TTU761MLMFS spinning rod which i have been looking for the past 4 months. is it worth to browse around. chet
  2. i just said, this is not a proper way to do business, especially after 8 months and $ 180 dollar reel, Daiwa warranty. i just said keep the reel or return it chet
  3. reel came back today. same as it left here 2 weeks ago needs an anti reverse bearing and maybe a another part, where do i start for these parts, Daiwa is off my reel list now. sad they would not repair it. any idea where i can get parts for this reel chet
  4. any comments on the BPS carbonlite 2.0 spinning reel size 30, how does BPS stand behind their reels ect chet
  5. my son purchased a new Daiwa Procyon AT LT spinning reel approx 8-9 months ago, he was having problems the anti reverse was not working all the time and the spool started to wobble, seemed like excessive play, he took it back to the dealer and the dealer told him to pack it up with the sales invoice and ship it to Daiwa. about a week later he gets a call that the reel is repaired, but there is a lubrication charge and shipping charges, they told him $90 plus dollars, he said he thought the warranty was 100% covered, rather than pay the near 100 dollars, he just said send the reel back, the lady on the phone said the technician will not release the reel unless payment is made. this reel cost him $179.00 my feeling is Daiwa should have contacted him before doing the repairs and tell him there would be a 90 some dollar charge, how can we get this reel back, and the warranty is puzzling, this should have been 100% covered, is Daiwa's warranty going south. chet
  6. To me when fishing for crappie from shore, distance is everything, yes it is cricial, when we started fishing there we would catch maybe one or two, this couple next to us about 50yds away were bringing them in, i approached the couple and ask what the secret was, no secret, he said i was watching you, and said you need to get out another 15 yds or so. so after a longer stiffer rod, and a bobber that i can add water to it, now i can catch them, but i am out there now maybe 40yds just guessing. at that distance when i am reeling in slowly, it is hard to detect a strike. and when i do is where i notice the stretch big time, so i did go to suffix 832 in 10lb test, i cannot quite get out there but the sensitivity and hook sets are improved. chet
  7. ho team9nine are you referring to power pro micro braid, trying to make sure i am looking for the right line chet
  8. I did mention in a post taking a break from Bass fishing and doing some crappie fishing, i was trying Suffix 832 in 10lb test trying to get some distance from shore fishing, i get the most distance with 4lb mono like stren SOS. the suffix braid 832 is nice for sensitivity and no stretch but falls short on the distance, was reading about the Berkley Nanofil. some say it will out cast the suffix and the mono 4lb lines, anything i should be aware of anything before i order, is it the way to go for what i am after less stretch and good hook sets and sensitivity. chet
  9. curious if anyone ever dealt here, the Tatula rod i was after is half the price here. chet https://www.daiwaoutlet.online/?fbclid=IwAR29WF67O4ZB3n3dDcIUJfeW3UbXrxIRimgoeYFBvDyRong5Md3jl6EmMeI
  10. i took a break from bass fishing for a few weeks and switched to crappie, i normally use 4lb mono mr crappie brand, it cast excellent as far as distance, that's what i need to catch them from shore, i tried 10lb suffix 832 and i am not getting the distance as i am with the 4lb mono. most say the braid will cast further than mono. but yet to see that chet

  15. in the market for a 7 to 7 1/2 ft spinning rod for 1 /8 to 1/4oz keitechs baits, my son and i were fishing yesterday and i tried his Tatula 7 1/2 foot rod, nice rod and with 8lb J braid it works well, so i am after a similar rod and as light or lighter in weight, i did have a new rod in 7 1/2 ft a few weeks ago had it for a day and sent it back was too heavy at the tip, what are some rods in the length i am after that don't feel tip heavy other than the Tatula. without going over the 150 dollar mark. chet
  16. since the BPS Carbonlite rods are impossible to find unless i am not looking in the right places, i have a few Dobyn's also i want to try something equivalent to the carbonlites, any preferences chet ps I just did find them at BPS at the main store, my mistake i was just looking at my local store. for spinner baits and chatter baits is this the one in 7ft that would a good choice 7' Medium Fast JCT70MTF 8-17 lbs.
