  5. HI Keeper i thought it might have been me, but of all the rods i bought in the last year, the Dobyns is the the poorest when it comes to sensativity
  6. been looking around for some white skirts, on ebay i can only find 5 or 10 paks, looking for at least 25paks in White, the silicone type with the most strands and at least 5 in plus long. did i miss them. any help would be appreciated. chet

  10. hi big UN since i changed my thoughts on the reel i reposted, after reading about the reel, i see there are cons about the bail spool, too much line twist, so i edited the topic to the Daiwa fuego LT 2500 i am reading good things about it, with one exception on frame flex, any thoughts or i just may go for the stradic ci4plus chet
  11. about the Daiwa Fuego LT 2500. some say that are light and smooth, been thinking of one, but reading about flex, should i take that with a grain a salt, i would like to get the Stradic CI4+, still could go that route. but i like saving a buck if it's worth it chet
  12. I see now that the XT is around $150 plus. so that brings up another question, really do now want to spend that, i just might settle for a supreme 30 for $104 any other light reels that will compete with this supreme xt 30 for less money. chet
  13. HI OE i like all the specs on the supreme XT 3000 weight and gear ratio, it was the drag specs that made me skeptical. might shop around for one. chet
  14. been looking for a new spinning reel something light, I see Pflueger Supreme 30 Spinning Reel, drag specs seem light, any comments on this reel or possible something more fisherman prefer over the Pflueger especially for 105 dollars. any better choices i would like to stay in the 8oz weight range chet
  15. been out of bass fishing, i have 30yr old baitcasters, so i get back into bass fishing and get rid of all my pistol grip baitcaster rods and get new rods and reels. yesterday spent some time spinnerbait fishing using a 3/8oz tandem with sort of large colorado blades, it seems kind of hard to reel this lure in, the ratio is 7.3 to 1, i am thinking of going back to my ryobi ad 4000 with a 5.2 to 1. anyone been down this road. chet
  16. yesterday i went fishing with my new heavy action sinning rod, the reel is an old vintage lews spinning reel with the drag adj on the back, i put daiwa J braid (green) 20lb test on it, with a 10lb 2 ft fluorocarbon leader, i had nothing but headaches with line knots, i have another spinning rod med action with a new reel and i think its the same line and it works fine. i am curious if the older reels are not for braid, one thing i notice is the line is wound very loose and there is about 1/8" in and out slop on the spool. ??? any ideas. i have used this reel for year back in the 80" with stren and never had an issue, the spool ascillation seems to be very coarse criss cross of the line is very noticeable. chet

may not be exactly in the right place, but the other day wife and i were fishing and when we were heading back to the car, i was talking to a another fisherman, and when we were done my wife SAID, CHESTER, you need to look into a better anti perspirent deodorant. so i am off to shop for something that works, so i am sure some been down this road, on what works. chet
  19. any suggestions on a pr of needle nose pliers that won't rust chet
  20. i am looking at a Daiwa Procryon spinning rod model PRCN701MXS for worms and jigs, any comments are they worth 80 bucks chet
  21. any thoughts on the new paradyme casting reels chet
  22. it's been a few weeks, so i go back to where i got the 6lb 10oz and after an hour or so, i switched to a drop shot and this guy went for a plastic crawdad. little over 5lbs chet
  23. sorry, high end. not into them, school me if i should try one, what would notice over my current reels chet
  24. i would add to this that i recently purchased a few baitcasters and i feel the lews tournament mp, is good, the Lews LFS is also right there, i also purchased the daiwa CT 100 HS and the Piscifun Phantom, the Phantom is the lightest, casting distance is on par with the MP, followed by the LFS, and the Daiwa is OK, but that Phantom took in a 6lb 10oz LM rather easily. the only shimano i would like to try is the SLX, i hear good things about it. chet
  25. any comments on these 2 spinning rods enigma or Cadence, they seem to be reasonable with good reviews chet
