  1. Bassnjake-Thanks for the video. I always try to get the hook out if possible and I like the gill technique. Just have to be careful and not manhandle the removal.
  2. I was talking about this with a fishing buddy this past weekend. A bad day on the water is better than a good day at work. Prepping for a little tourney, I began to realize that I have a ton of stuff that I have never tried. I think that we all get complacent and go back to what we are comfortable fishing (from types of lures to colors). I forced myself to change it up a bit and focused on some plastics that I overlook. Surprisingly enough, I caught a lot of fish! This also brings back memories of fishing with a buddy in Oklahoma when I was stationed there. My buddy, Ed, was just getting into bass fishing and he bought a bunch of cheap lures at Bass Pro out of the clearance bin. We were fishing in my secret spot (closed for most of the month due to being near an Impact Area) and he tied on the ugliest $1 lure that you have ever seen. He started yelling at me to help him and he pulled up a huge bucketmouth!
  3. Great question. For me, it all depends on how I have done throughout the trip. I will have to say that my last two weekday evening tournaments have produced fish on the last cast before heading in for weigh-in. On occasion, I have been known to get home late due to trying to achieve the "perfect" last cast.

  5. Totally agree. Recently purchased a lake place and have been fishing a lot while trying to figure it out. Had a brand new Super Air Nautique come within 10 feet of me and swamped me while I was on the trolling motor. Over a three foot wake made it interesting. Five minutes later, he came by again (within 10 feet) and gave me a thumbs up as he went by. Lets just say that we had a short educational discussion on etiquette.
