The Monkey got me Friday at BPS. It's ok though, I can admit I have a problem!

My kids got me a Lure Lock Locker with the 5 3600 size boxes that I now use for my terminal tackle. I would probably have preferred 3700 size but it has worked out great. I have each box setup for a particular technique and labeled as such. Prior to this I had a Plano Edge 3700 size dedicated to terminal tackle. I have 4 or 5 Edge 3700 boxes and several Lure Lock 3700's with no dividers. These two brands are my current favorites.

I wandered in to a local tackle shop yesterday just to browse. Had a package of Roboworms and a Jewel swim jig. Was content with those two items and got to the rod racks. What are these new rods they have? They are the Lew's KVD series. Oh wow, they have the 6'8" jerkbait rod. Well by golly, it looks pretty nice, I better get it. Pay for my now three items, get to the truck and think, "I wonder if they had the matching reels?". Back inside I go. Sure enough, they have them. Ask the dude if they have the 7.5:1. He digs around and by golly they do. Alrighty then, reckon the new rod needs it! I didn't think to take a picture of the new setup but it looks real nice. I'll try to take a picture after work today and add to this post.

My wife and I go to pick up our brand new boat at the dealer a little over a month ago. While the sales people are giving us a walk-through of the boat I close the remote drain plug. While we are in the finance office paying for said boat they rolled it out of the showroom for me to hook up and take her away. We head to the ramp near the place we are going to stay for a few nights and I had a slip rented in their marina. There was no trailer parking near the ramp so I was gonna have put the boat in the slip, go back to my truck, drive up to the trailer lot, dump trailer, and drive back down to the marina. As I was idling up towards our slip I hear water running that sounds way to loud to be coming from the pee tube on the motor. I turn around to look and I've got a real gusher coming the transom area of the boat. What is going on?? I'm checking every thing I can think of, what can this be?! Other boats are trying to get to their slips and I'm sitting there idling around in circles trying to figure this out. Then I jump up on the back deck and look at the remote drain plug and it was in the open position! I guess when the guys pushed the boat/trailer out of the showroom one of them must've flipped the plug to open. I double check myself at the ramp every time now. Super glad I have auto-bilge or I'd have tied it up in the slip and gotten back to a sunk brand new boat. Wouldn't be the first time I've sunk one, but we'll save those stories for another day.

Yesterday I hit the Academy I pass on my way home from work. Picked up some Thunder Crickets for 4.98/ea, a 13 Fishing crank bait for 4.98, and few other things for like a dollar.

Picked up our new 2021 Vexus AVX1880 Friday! Awesome boat! Ultrex iPilot Link TM, HB Helix bow and console, Mercury 115 Pro XS pushing her. Took a plant tour and got to see our actual boat being built. If you're looking for a tin boat, be sure and check out Vexus!

The Academy down the street from my office had pegs full of Jackhammers last week. They had the elusive Fire Craw in 3/8 and 1/2 so, picked up one of each. Also picked up a Black/Blue for good measure. Got a box full of Chatterbaits, Thunder Crickets, and other bladed jigs, but these are my first Jackhammers.

Usually two. Always a fly rod and generally a medium casting rod. Some of the places I wade are too bushy to use the fly rod, or the flows a little to high, so it's nice to have a backup plan.

Been lurkin for a while and finally joined up. Grew up bass fishing and then got real deep into fly fishing. I have fly fished for trout in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Colorado. Been to Belize are few times for bonefish and even got a Permit on the fly. Wading local creeks and small rivers for smallies got me back in to bringing along conventional gear, which in turn lead to buying kayaks, which has now lead to ordering a new bass boat. We have a 2021 Vexus AVX1880 on order, supposed to start down the production line tomorrow. Can't hardly wait!
