I just recently purchased my my first ever boat. It is a 2015 Tracker Pro Team 175 TF w/75 Merc. From this picture, only real change is new prop and working on installing new trolling motor now. Engine had only 55 total hours use on it, and 80% of those hours run at less than 70% power. Boat looked brand new and was garage kept. I feel like I got a steal of deal and we love fishing in it! I'll get a better picture soon.

So, after reading a bunch of articles, turns out I don't know how to measure a shaft. I did have a 45" shaft Minn Kota edge 45. So I went a completely different direction on my choice and I purchased a Minn Kota Terrova 45" shaft. I thought great, Minn Kota same length, easy install.... They are completely different bases so had to fill the old holes and drill new ones, but it fits great. Now today is the wiring day, oh and I had to get a new front mount fish finder because my Lowrance wasn't compatible with the new trolling motor. So I have that to wire and install as well. The new trolling motor also comes with a gps satellite disk that needs installed, it shows it going in mid boat but I don't have anywhere mid boat to mount it, does anyone know if it can be bow mounted as long as there is some room from where the power lines run? Thanks for the feedback and advice, the wireless pedal was a concern of mine as well after reading reviews.

Just recently I put my boat plug into the wrong spot on the boat and was taking on water fast as I was leaving the ramp area. Had to come back and jump in the water, pull the plug underwater and put it where it belonged. Started the evening soaking wet, but at least I"m in Texas and was dry in 20 minutes because it's still 100 d**n degrees at 6:30 at night.

One of the reasons that anything of this type looses its value is due to financing and titling issues. Banks and lending institutions offer better and longer rates on something new, vs something that has been titled. That alone hurts resell value right off the bat. I don't think however that it looses near as much as vehicle year over year. I just bought a 2015 that had a nada retail of 70% of the cost of what I could go purchase a new one for. If that were a vehicle, it would have been much less than 70%.

Can the motor just go lower into the water? Does that affect anything?

Hello, Pretty new to boating as I just recently acquired my first boat (2015 bass tracker 175 tfw w/75 hp motor) It has on it a 45lb thrust min kota that I am currently having some issues with. I am working on getting that resolved as it was great until about a week ago. My question is it currently has a 36" shaft on the trolling motor and the one that I am thinking of getting comes in a 48" or 54" shaft, will that even fit this boat? I don't know enough about them to know if you can change the shaft size on a trolling motor. The trolling motor I am considering is this one: MotorGuide Xi3-55FW Wireless Control - Sonar/GPS TIA
