What’s your fishing style
@OCdockskipper I think I just leveled up in angler knowledge. Thank you sir! I was trying a few different types of retrieve typical for lipless all around the waters and this was really the only effective one, but only in that area. I'm not really sure what's happening as far as structure or cover. I'm thinking it's probably a combination like you said.

What’s your fishing style
I'm not sure I 100% understand what people mean by a pattern, so based on what you're saying, the other day when I was getting bit over and over by doing a very fast yo-yo presentation from deeper water all the way to the shallow banks with my lipless, I was dialed in to one?

What’s your fishing style
I've heard it said that any time you are searching for a reaction strike from aggressive fish, you're power fishing. If you're searching for a bite from hungry fish and therefore presenting your bait slowly as easy prey, you're finesse fishing.

Why am I addicted to buying topwaters when I rarely get bit
I'm kind of obsessed with my walking bait right now, I usually spend at least half of my trip using it. I have mass amounts of confidence in it and I think it looks so great in action to me, but apparently the fish couldn't care less lol

We all start somewhere.
I had no idea what to buy when I first started back in late April of this year, so I ended up just grabbing a few things at Walmart that I thought looked good lol. I bought green pumpkin lizards, watermelon swimmin super flukes, green pumpkin senkos, red shad Culprit ribbontails, some baitholder hooks, and very light split shot weights. So basically, a mojo rig, with either the culprit worm or the swimmin fluke. I rigged them on to the baitholders with exposed hook point. I kinda killed it for a newbie! Not to mention, my 6 year old son caught 3 small largemouth with a tiny Creme mini-tail tube casting near a drain pipe our very first day. This was before I even casted, while I was still rigging my stuff. He was already whackin' em, no lies!

Hey squarebill guys and gals...
Berkley Frittside 5. Just bought it last week, received it Friday, fished it Saturday morning. Brutally slow morning. Only the Frittside got me bit. It was a 3 lb, my biggest bass since July on it. A certified hawg in my neighborhood ponds.

Is it a good time to fish after heavy rains raise pond levels
If you have drain pipes, from my experience bass are waiting in ambush near the pipes after heavy rains.

I struggle with the dropshot.
I use Owner mosquito hooks 1/0. I rarely have any hookup issues

Help! Can’t catch anything!
This. I spent two hours in a pond completely skunked the other morning. I tried a whopper plopper, a jerkbait, a jig, a lipless crank. Threw on a weightless t-rigged 5" Zoom Zlinky senko in black with blue flake (Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG, 15 lb Seaguar Red Label fluorocarbon) and I caught a 1lb 1 oz on the first cast! He hit it on the initial fall. I had to do a little searching after that, but my next catch was a 1.75 lb not too much later. Walked to a smaller pond around the way and had to search a little bit, but next catch was a 2lb 2oz.

Pond fishing lures
Hey man, I noticed you're in SE GA, are you in or near Savannah?

Pond fishing lures
Dang...but don't give up on the lipless crank or fluke. Fluke especially. It took me a long time to learn to properly work it in a way that they have a hard time resisting a bite. I recently learned to do short choppy rod pops (with lots of pauses worked in) and when done right it makes it dart and wiggle underwater very erratically. I was a little surprised how much more realistic it looks just slightly tweaking your presentation

Pond fishing lures
Bummer! They didn't bite my rat-l-trap either. They didn't bite anything at all actually, I had to resort to weightless texas rigged senko. I didn't think they'd bite seeing as the ponds I fish are fairly pressured and everyone throws a senko, but sure enough I got a few. this was a 4.5 hour trip though so 3 is not saying much lol

Let's see a catch if you get one!

Pond fishing lures
Lipless crankbaits and flukes. I fish fairly pressured small ponds and I'm still having a good time walking the banks with those.

I need some help...
I fish very stained ponds (1 ft or less visibility) that have lots of finicky bass, and gold black back lipless Rat-l-trap has been picking off a lot of them lately

I am just too uncoordinated....
What type of line are you using? I can't walk a frog at all... It's the exact same problem, I can get it to walk literally for like two twitches. Except braid! Braid is the only line I can walk a frog with. Maybe that's your answer?
- Perfect pond with no big bass

You newer anglers need enthusiasm then experience
I only have about 4 months experience and I tend to become more and more determined the more unproductive time I spend at the water. I find it difficult to give up, so my problem becomes the fact that I end up spending way more time than I planned for lol
