Intex Excursion Pro Kayak - any feedbacks?
Hello, thinking about kayak I found Intex Excursion Pro, called "Professional Series Inflatable Fishing Kayak". It was on sale for $124.99 last winter in Amazon, hopefully can catch it for same money this year. But is it worth the money? Does anybody has it? I understand that it is inflatable, that regular kayak in 100,000 times better, but sorry, I have no $700+ for normal kayak... Thank you

A bit of a rant...
I had major problems with President XT reel. However, I feel much better after: - change old braid line to thicker 25 lb - accurately reeled - change breaking settings - change knots connecting braid and fluo All these factors brought me DRAMATICAL difference in cast distance and cast quality. Yes, you won't have really long cast with this XT reel, but in short distances it will do to what it designed for. About rods: all my rods are St Croix now and I had Ugly Stick before. I see that Mojo Bass way more sensitive then Ugly, but almost no difference between St Croix Mojo Bass and Legend Extreme, regardless of 3.5 times difference in price. Conclusion: Good reels and rods may give you some more confidence, but it's a psychological moment. IMO you will definitely feel a huge difference between $30 and $130 rod/reel, but all rods/reels will work more or less similar after particular price level.

Tungsten vs lead
I wish they don't!

Tungsten vs lead
Seems things have changed.... And it seems that guys are not resellers, this is what they wrote to me: "We are a small family owned business in Wisconsin. Product reviews are extremely important and we depend on them. Reviews also let potential customers feel confident that they are purchasing a product from a trusted and reputable company. If you haven’t left a review we would appreciate it!"

Tungsten vs lead
Initial ideas in using tungsten were to to make jighead smaller in size and more voiced than lead, because chemical density/weight of tungsten is much higher than lead's with the same volume. The sound of a weight pulling along a rocky bottom should pique the interest of a predator fish, like zender. However, other spices are expressing "curiosity" by answering to new more voiced sound. Answering to your question whether you can feel the bottom better or not the answer is yes. You can feel it better.

Left or Right: What I brought up from my yesterday fishing
I never do twitching with baitcast reel before. I had my beloved baitcast for jigg (right handed), spinning for twitching (left handed), and was happy with that setup. While spinning setup where taken by my little girl and as a father I had no choice as to work my twitching setup from scratch. I bought St Croix Legend X for very reasonable money and a reel was only thing to manage. So I was need to try my new rod and I took reel off from my another rod. Result dissatisfied me completely. When I had to twitch from left to right and opposite I understood that I need another, second right hand. I can't do twitching my left hand. Did somebody has an experience with "switching" hands? Was this experience good/bad to you? And could someone who lives in Carroll County, MD and has left hand baitcast and going fishing PM me? I want to try left hand reel before buy. Thanks!

Long distance casting reel, need advise
I spoke to the specialists who does reels tuning, he affirmed that it would be the best solution for money because of the reel weight and performance, regardless of mag break. And this tread in our forum has added it's 5 cents: But maybe discussion is too old and many things changed from that time...

Long distance casting reel, need advise
Hello All, at first I want to thank to all of you for advises and willing help. It's priceless! I did my choice today. I decided to go with Abu Garcia Revo ALX 8.0:1 (9 Bearings, 155grams), bough it in China from official Abu dealer. Additionally, I ordered spear spool 32mm (weight is 6.43 grams) for "turning" my reel into MGX. Total costs, including delivery is $214.25 Company promised to get things delivered at November, 12 Will keep you up to date.

Long distance casting reel, need advise
What about Shimano SLX MGL 70? Is it better choice?

Long distance casting reel, need advise
Make sense, but I need a reel anyway...

Long distance casting reel, need advise
Thanks for advise, much appreciate that! Well, at this moment the reel has attached to Mojo Bass 7,5' and I feel that distance covered is about ~50-55 yards if I through 1/2oz chatterbait and about 60+ if I through frog... Frog appeared more aerodynamic ))) For Legend rod I want to by a reel first. By spec it supposes to through up to 5/8oz. Lets see.. Reading more topics at our forum I figured out that Curado DC experience is very questionable and it is not the same to everybody who own this reel... I hoped that Curado DC would be more forgiven to the casting mistakes, but reality is little bit different. Will do research on Tatula Elite/SV and Scorpion DC. Last idea is to "abuse" Amazon and to take two reels to test and return one later on...

Long distance casting reel, need advise
It reminds me old Jewish anecdote when guy came to Rebbe and whining - "Oh, Rebbe, it so hard to live, everything is against me, my wife is killing me, my children make me mad, what to do???" - "Buy a goat!" Rebbe answers. - "But I live in apartment, I have no place for goat!" - "I told you, buy a goat!" Ok, that guy bought the goat and then, few months later, he comes back to Rebbe: - "Rebbe, everything just getting worst! My wife is killing me, my children make me mad, but that GOAT!!! It lives poops everywhere, it bleats so bad that my neighbors hate me all together!!!" - "Ok, sell the goat!" Rebbe answers to him. To my case "do you have a problems with casting distance? buy a kayak!"

And another question: what do you think about Shimano SLX DC? It costs much cheaper then Tatula Elite/Curado DC, and performance, seems, in the same level as these guys have...

Long distance casting reel, need advise
Update: I feel I need to add an update to my question. Source of multiple nests appeared to be a knot connecting braid line and fluorocarbon lead. After removing it casting quality/distance have changed, but want to cast further and better. And yes, I understand that practice is everything. I'm fishing 3-4 times per week, and I'm dedicated "student" I have pretty good fishing experience, like 35 years in Europe, but my baitcasting experience more modest, it was about 3 years in Europe, then 5 years break (by some sad reason I had no opportunity to fish at all, had health condition) and now I managed myself to get back on track. Have Croix MJC75MHXF Mojo Bass Casting Rod 7-feet 5-inches, Meduim-Heavy, UltraLight for jigging. Reel is Pfluger President XT. My wife made me a gift for our wedding anniversary, she bought St Croix Legend 7' Medium/Fast action. I believe it's good for twitching and I need a reel for it. New rod is very lightweight, so I'm looking appropriate reel by weight. I'm fishing at the entrance of small bay, like 300-400 yards long and about 250+ yards wide. There is an old creek in the middle, where bass is hunting. Need to reach out to the border of this creek with lures 3/8 oz... What I brought out from our conversation: Majority recommend Daiwa (probably Tatula or Tatula Elite), less people recommend Shimano as Curado DC, Calcutta (I heard it's legendary reel but it's upgrade sounds scary to me). Watching a lot of reviews from the channel "THE REEL TEST" and this test (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qj9gCeriYm8) I decided to ask first. Thanks everybody for awesome help and tips and if you have anything to add, please feel free to do that.

Long distance casting reel, need advise
Ok, thank you. I just figured out that I missed one really critical factor as the knot where braid line connected to fluorocarbon lead. It gave me a lot of pain an I just made it more accurate. Today's morning cast passed MUCH easier, it changed to 1 for, probably, 15-20 casts... But reel needs anyway, since I got a fabulous rod St Croix Legend Extreme
