  1. The crappie pattern changes colors from a emerald green to midnight blue. Cliff does very nice work, has a quick turn around and his price is fair. His bluegill pattern is sweet also There is some very talented guys here on the forum, Barry ( I'm itching to send him a couple baits for him to paint for me ;D), Big M, ( I have several of Martys cranks and a couple more ordered), Jawjacker does some mean cranks, his pics don't do them justice, but Stringjam has some great pics of his work, inc. my avator. And, Stringjam has made some flat out mean looking baits( for himself > ), and an awesome display of cranks like I've never seen. Fishwhittler does some very quality work and I hope to get some of his cranks soon, I could go on and on, but, it just shows some of the true craftsman here on the forum. I never get tired at looking at their work
  2. Cliff just returned these two baits today that he custom painted for me, and I'm really impressed with his work. They look much better in hand.I like both, but the black crappie is awesome. If I can get these pics posted, one is a shad pattern on a wec Tapp, and one the black crappie on a Risebacker lipless. What do you guys think of Cliffs work? I'm having trouble posting the pics, so, I'm going to try this link :-[ http://s689.photobucket.com/albums/vv251/SnappinTurtle_photos/Cliffs%20custom%20paint/?albumview=slideshow
  3. Yea I was looking at the Premier a couple days ago on Garcias site. Looks real nice. Here is the specs New Revo® Premier Spinning Reel You've never seen a reel like this before. A spinning reel with the lightweight properties of graphite but with the strength of an all metal body just doesn't come along everyday. The Revo Premier spinning reel provides the best of both worlds in a one-of-a-kind package. Our revolutionary new NanoShield technology creates parts up to 300% stronger than the same graphite parts and up to 50% lighter than the weight of aluminum. Now you can fish harder all day and never get worn down. 4. Not sure about in that neck of the woods, but further down south off I-64 you got the Hoosier national forest( there is a fee, dont remenber $$$) that has 4 small lakes that are trolling motor only, out of the way lakes, not much pressure, very nice lakes, but off the beaten path, and some hard to get to hike in ponds also. Then around the Salem area there is John hay lake and Delaney park lake, John hay gets much more pressure. You have to get a yearly sticker from Salem($20 i think) for John hay. Delaney costs around $4 per visit, not sure of yearly. Then there is Starvehollow lake around Brownstown, in off season when the beach is closed not much people at all, very nice trolling motor only lake, secluded, shallow lake, deepest water maybe 15-20', lots of big lily pads in areas. I don't think it costs after season.I could probaby even give ya a few more lakes later. All of these lakes have shown big bass for Indiana in old surveys by the DNR, 8-10lb. But, I'm just partial to out of the way, off the beaten path, trolling motor only lakes myself
  5. Nice job Marty Are the top 3 from your Petey style cranks?
  6. Yes both have the same line. After I looked up in my closet, I had so many different lines, I forgot which line was on it ;D Its either P-line Floroclear 12lb. or P-line cx premium 12lb. Later on if I decide to pick up another reel, I may look at the lower geared stx, but then I'd have to have a new rod too :-/
  7. This makes me flash back to 1978, working south of Clevland. Our foreman said if the whole crew busted butt all week we would bank some of the work each day and the whole crew go to Cedar point in Sandusky and ride roller coasters all day and get paid for it. There was like 8 of us, man what a blast ;D
  8. :-/ I wonder how them seats would look on a bass boat?
  9. maybe they found their own little secret honey hole to do a little
  10. Nate, it looks cool so far, keep us updated on the progress.
  11. I don't fish at night much more, but when I did I probably adjusted my soft plastic color maybe more than crankbait color,
  12. I use a snap on most everything except worm hooks, jigs, etc.. I have never had a snap break, and it makes changing lures, which at times I do quite often, more easy and fast. And I've had my line slide down in the joint of a split ring which I don't like.
  13. ;D, well there ya go. I think I'll reverse them and see what happens. On lighter cranks my stx outperforms my winch quite a bit. Now, I seem to like the retrieve rate better for cranks on the winch. I may look and see if they make an stx that is lower geared than 7-1.
  14. Yea, I think I'll try that and see if its the same results. I was curious if anybody else has used these 2 reels and if they thought the STX just casts better. I like both reels, just for different situations.
  15. I've got a Revo stx mounted on a G-Loomis GL3 mbr 783c 6'-6" med./heavy fast action 10-17lb. 1/4-3/4oz , and I also have a revo winch mounted on a St. croix avid ac66mhf 6'-6" med. heavy/ fast action 10-20lb. 3/8-1oz..... my question is, I get much better casting distance out of the Revo stx than I do the Winch when casting lighter lures, do you think its because the STX just casts better than the winch? Or, is part of the issue the with the rods? I just think the STX casts much better, esp. distance wise, but the winch seems to have a better retrieve ratio for cranks. :-/ what do you guys think? switch the reels and test it that way?
  16. I've got the Stradic ci4 mounted on a G-Loomis GL2 SJR783 6'-6" med. heavy/ fast action 8-16lb. 3/16-5/8oz., I think BPS has the rod for about $165. I really like the set up, and I'm thinking of getting another one to put an older Stradic reel on that I got. The outfit seems well balanced to me and feels good togther.
  17. > I'm gonna find that lake Dixon and get me some of them bad boys ! Very nice stringer of fish bud, great job
  18. Sounds like they did better than us anyway. A lot of people think Patoka has really went downhill in the last 5 yrs or so. I don't fish it near as much as we use to. Some time back it was nothing to catch a couple hundred bass their in one trip.
  19. Sad to hear. Prayers offered for the family.
  20. einie-meanie-minie-mo Green pumpkin, red shad, black/chart.
  21. Mine don't compare to the other posts, its about all I've bought lately. If this link works. http://s689.photobucket.com/albums/vv251/SnappinTurtle_photos/New%20lures%20in%20the%20box/?albumview=slideshow
  22. Looks good. I agree with the other guys, add a little color, to kinda accent it, orange, yellow, red. Nice job.
  23. Fishwhittler, that top, finished, bait is flat awesome and the bottom loud colored craw pattern is tough also. Excellant job
