  1. We have a very healthy population here. The only thing that made this note worthy was I took this pic. from inside my house. I've had turkey's tapping at their reflection on my sliding glass door.
  2. Todays visitor to my back yard.

Hard to believe it's been 75 years and the greatest generation is almost gone, my dad included, US Navy, he never talked about it. A very profound thank you to all who have served. We are forever grateful.
  4. I've been fishing since , well, as long as I can remember. My family have been fishing for many generations, in one way or another. Per the family history, my relatives lived on the Isles of Shoals in NH at one time as commercial fisherman. My grandmother told me the story of how she and my grandfather were out hornpouting one night. On the way in they ran up on a rock pile and got stuck. They had to wait for daylight and help, and she figures that was the night my mom was conceived. Not a bad way to pass the time I guess? Here's a couple of pics. The first one is my great uncle Rosco, at Rye harbor NH, with a shark he caught. The second is me and my dad out on the lake, around 1955. Even with a toy fish pole I had the bug.
  5. My go to is the Strike King swimm'n caffeine shad in KVD magic color on a screw lock swim bait hook, weighted or un weighted. Fish it fast, fish it slow, bounce it over the bottom, I have yet to find a way that doesn't work.
  6. We hired separate inspectors for everything and it's a good thing we did. Leach field, roof , foundation, all had problems.
  7. Thanks, we hired inspectors with a good rep. But my question is, once issues are found, doesn't the realtor have a reasonability to mention these when selling a house?
  8. Hi all, My wife and I are in the market for a house. We recently found one that looked good, and went to see it. I saw some things that looked suspect, but as the market is hot right now, we put a bid in, subject to a through home inspection. Our bid was accepted and a home inspection followed. Unfortunately the inspection uncovered numerous major issues and we opted out of the contract. No harm, no foul on our end, however a couple of days later we saw this house was back on the market, same price, no mention of any of the issues we found. I Know the listing agent and our agent know of these issues,( they were part of the discussion when we opted out). So is this ethical? I hope we don't find a house with issues that no one told us about. Jim
  9. Strike King's swimm'n caffeine shad's are my go to in KVD magic color.
  10. Feel the same way. Got a 50 on our 16ft. Lund. Maxes out at 30 mph, plenty fast for us.
  11. I really don't feel bad for you guys My latest boat expense, A house with a garage so I don't have to pay to store my boat over the winter.
  12. Whether you bed fish or not is up to everyone to decide for themselves. I like being on the water during the spawn just to see how many beds/fish there are. Seeing hundreds of beds with fish on them really kind of shows how healthy a lake is. And yes, if I see a bigger than normal bass, I'll catch it, snap a pic, and let it go.
  13. As both of your grins show, It just doesn't get any better than that.?
  14. I have a Lund Fury XL Sport, which is very close to the adventure. Can't say enough good things about it.
  15. Salmon is my thought.
  16. I'm a " all spinning rods fishing " guy. Been using 6# Yo Zuri hybrid ultra soft on all my setups for many years now. This line has never disappointed me.
  17. Another lefty here but somewhat ambidextrous. I shoot lefty, golf righty, bat righty, catch lefty. As for fishing, I cast with my right hand, reel with my left, except for fly fishing, I reel with my left but can cast as well with either hand.
  18. If you don't mind me asking, is it normal to have that tank ( I assume gas? ) way out far from the house?
  19. If only jet skies would disappear like that.?
  20. I would bring the rod in and try the reels on before buying. This way you will see what works for you. Some will say a size 35 reel is larger and heavier than needed, but as I said, if it works for you, that's really all that matters.
  21. Around here real high water, over the ramp and onto the access road. Did manage to sneak the boat out though, and picked up the first fish of the year. A nice LM, 19 " just under 3lb.
  22. Pick up an original floating Rapala. Go to your pond on an overcast day or early morning/ late evening. Cast it out over your favorite " fishy looking" spots. Let it sit, then twitch it, jerk it, pull it under then let it float back up. In general, make it look like an injured fish. This works great no matter how shallow the water is. You will get bit.
  23. I use nothing but Yo-Zuri Hybrid ultra soft in #6. Love the stuff.
  24. So the last of the ice out was a week ago. Today we finally got out. Water temp around 45. Couldn't find a bite, but man didn't it feel good to be out. Here's to the first of many, many, many, trips this year.
  25. Thank you so much for posting this, you've really shown one of the kind of things that are truly important in life.
