  1. Back when I was a kid 1950's-1960's I used jitterbugs, crazy crawlers, hula poppers. I still have a couple of them from back then.
  2. Hi all, I have a Shimano Crucial spinning rod crs-x68m, med, extra fast. I've had this rod for years, but have never really got comfortable with it. I have 6'6" shimano compre and St. Croix Avid med. fast and extra fast rods to compare it to, but the Crucial feels totally different. The most comfortable use I've found for it is throwing weightless T-rig Senkos. Do any of you have, or have used this rod? What do you think of it, what do you throw with it? Thanks Jim
  3. I have the 24 volt 80 lb thrust ulterra on my Lund 1625 Fury XL Sport. Plenty powerful and a joy to use. If my Ulterra was lost tomorrow, I'd replace it with the exact same thing.
  4. My 16" Lund Fury XL Sport has a rod locker for six rods up to 8 foot long. It's more of a multi species boat style though. We have rod holders to hold some rods vertical or at a 45 degree slant when out on the water. Works well for us.
  5. Sometimes, one of the best parts of fishing isn't really the fishing. It's stopping to look around and enjoying the amazing places fishing brings you.

A river runs through it. The old man and the sea.
  9. Dan, you should send it up to the rock pile just up from you, Last Fri. we saw a few good Smallies starting to hover around last years beds. Jim
  10. Thanks A-Jay, I got it now. I actually stopped by the Ford garage and showed it to the service manager. He was scratching his head over the poor design.
  11. Thanks everyone, I'm thinking putting the FOB in the back of the boat is the way to go. Thanks, A-Jay, only problem is if the lift gate is up, plugging or unplugging the wires activates it to come back down.
  12. I know this is miniscule in the grand scheme of things, however, it's just a little bit annoying to me. Our tow vehicle is a 2020 Ford Edge with a factory tow package. This is our second Edge and we absolutely love it. It tows our 16" Lund with out complaint and is perfect for us. However, it does have one quirk, which as I said kind of annoys me. Our Edge has the foot activated power lift gate. I thought it would be kind of gimmicky, but we now use it all the time. Here in lies the quirk . Ford engineers decided to put the trailer wiring plug right underneath one of the lift gate sensors. So when I lean down to plug or unplug the trailer lights, it activates the lift gate. If it's open, it closes. If it's closed, it opens. As my head is right by the lift gate at the time, more often than not it hits me, Not hard, but as I said, just enough to annoy me. I discovered this not too long after we bought the car last fall, and called Ford about it, but they never got back to me. I looked at rerouting the wiring harness, but it looks like the best place for it is where it is. I'm sure in time I'll get used to it. Until then maybe I'll put a "Reminder Duck" note on the plug. Well, thanks for listening and for letting me vent some. On a side note: If you are ever at the boat launch and happen to see someone getting whacked by their car, stop by and say hi, it's probably me.? Jim

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, that wasn't the best pic. Here's a few more that show the deer better.

Hi everyone, One of my trail cams picked up this deer. It's got hunks of fur missing and the inside of it's ears are bloody. We haven't seen this on a deer before. Any idea what could be wrong with it? Thanks Jim
  16. Picked up a 18" salmon on a ned rig a couple years ago, That shocked me a bit.
  17. Bad back, foot, and now my knees are going so sit for me. Thanks to my Ulterra I can sit to deploy and stow that also.
  18. I always prefer overcast days. Can't tell you how many times we were nailing them all morning during overcast days and then the second the sun came out they shut right off. LM I'm holding in my picture 5+ lbs. was caught five feet from the boat in six feet of water on a spinnerbait , on a overcast day.
  19. Yes, it sure is. We have a lot of them around here
  20. Hi everyone, I've been trying to thin out the mice around my tractor shed ( they live under the front of it) and so have been live trapping them ( 4 so far and counting). To keep track of my progress I have a trail cam set up. Most nights I just see this ( he went into the trap soon after this was taken) However, last night was quite busy We'll see what tonight brings Thanks for looking Jim
  21. I have 6' 6" thru 7". I find switching from one to the other of different lengths really doesn't matter to me. Of course I grew up in the era when you only had one rod and used it for everything.
