  1. All of the big fish in my area are tigers, pures have only been stocked since OCT. of '19. Anyways, tigers will refuse all big musky baits in my area. Our best producing baits are big bass jerkbaits, 5-6" musky glidebaits, and also small musky spinners like the micro double cowgirl and twin drone from chaos tackle.
  2. So, I'm from the North Eastern USA and we do very well for both purebred and tiger musky using large bass jerkbaits. I have had good luck with the xrap12 and other similar rapalas. I recently lost one of my favorite jerkbaits, a strike pro jumper 110sp, which is no longer made. This bait has a very similar action to what I've seen in videos from the megabass jerkbaits. Can megabass jerkbaits hold up or is there a different bait I should look to?
  3. I consider them to be sport fish at this point, and I love catching em! I believe they have become naturalized in the USA, my local river supports carp as well as less hardy species like trout and smallmouth. The river is never overly muddy unless we receive extreme rainstorms. They'll always go back unless then they get gut hooked.
  4. Prefer cork or winn type grips. I have haptodysphoria so the feeling of foams and velvets really bothers me and makes me cringe and feel uneasy.
  5. I've been looking at a scorpion mgl as well as a used antares 12, does anyone have experience with the JDM shimano reels? Any advice would be appreciated.
  6. A little bit of everything. I'd be mostly fishing soft baits with beast style hooks, but I also would throw hard swimbaits on occasion.
  7. Im a musky guy through and through. I plan on getting a 9ft telescopic Tackle industries Pro in XH (2-8oz), paired up with a Tranx400hg and 80 lb braid with a flaurocarbon leader. My question is: would this rod be good for fishing swimbaits for big bass on occasion?
  8. I don't plan to throw anything giant, as I'm in Pennsylvania and there aren't many big big bass here. However, the biggest I'd want would be a depps 250, not much bigger that I think I could catch fish on. If I buy that aforementioned 3-10oz I could throw a depps 250 as well as my musky baits. What kind of line is preferred for swimbaits? I run a 65 lb braid mainline to a 20+ inch leader of 80lb flauro for musky!
  9. Based on my username you can figure I musky fish, however I am intrigued at the thought of big swimbaits. I currently have a chaos tackle assault stick (3/4 - 4 oz) paired up with a high speed 300 tranx with 65lb braid, would such a setup be good for swimbaits or should I get a setup specific for bass swimbaits? I'm also planning on getting a Chaos tackle S.W.A.T assault stick (3-10oz) and a 400 size tranx. If I should get a seperate setup, I'm open to recommendations.
