Love the reels (I have an SLX XT and DC in my lineup). So much reel for a good price. I have a casitas as well - the SLX feels better. I'll would definitely buy another if I could convince the wife I need a another setup ? The rods, however, are a bit stiff. M feels like MH to me. Seems like that's the trend Shimano is going with recently (I've heard the same can be said about the zodias lineup).

Shimano, Daiwa, Okuma are my top 3 reel brands (both higher and lower end). I don't think I own any other brand reels.

My first bait caster was a MH/F.... I would recommend that route. It's just very versatile (especially if u already have a M spinning setup)

Palomar knot for baits and hooks.. Double uni for leaders.. Pull nice a snug and u should be good to go!

I've heard the zodias are a lot stiffer than most rods...any1 with personal experience with them?
