Eastern PA Fishing Reports
He said the tournament is next weekend. He and some of the guys in the club got out on his boat to make sure everything ran smoothly and the motor started right up from what I heard.

Looking for a good Spinnerbait Rod
7' mh or 843. IMX if you can afford it, e6x is more than enough for moving baits. IF the deal you are referring to is what I think it is all three models are out of stock for at least a few months.

SLX Line for tournaments
Our club is looking to get rods and reels for our tournament fishing. I have used the casitas and do not feel it is reliable enough for tournament fishing. We are looking at the slx dc and slx 70. Would these reels be good enough for a tournament?

Boat setting for years?
where did you find the boat for sale?

Boat setting for years?
just asked my buddy, and this is what he said: that could be a great deal, if you are dedicated. It has been sitting in a barn, which is way better than being outside. Like others mentioned, it will likely need some work. You can do it yourself or pay for it to be fixed up. I have a very similar boat and will be more than happy to help you. Shoot me a pm and ill give you more information.

do I need to buy leader
my friend teammate told me today that I should with to braid and leader on my spinning rod. he said I will feel more and won't get tangles as much. I am also switching to tungsten weights soon. I want to know if I need line that says leader. why wouldn't I be able to just use 8 lb mono or regular line?

Dobyn's Fury or Lew's KVD
the fury has really great reviews. I handled one and was very impressed. will be adding them to my arsenal soon

Help with Rods/Reels/Line Test and Style
we are in a similar posittion id recommend a 6'6" mh or 7' mh Dobyns fury rod and an six reel in 7.4 ratio for what you'd like to do. It is a solid setup and will last a while. I handled my teammates rod over the fall and want to look into that myself

Curado 70 MGL

My Rods
I have: a shakespheare 6'6" ml spinning rod with 10 lb mono that I use for drop shots a 6'6" m black max combo with 12 lb mono for jerkbaits and poppers a 7' mh mod fast abu vengeance and black max rod for chatter baits and spinnerbaits with 15 lb mono a 7' mh (heavier rod) lews speed stick im8 for jigs and frogs what do you think I should get rod/reel wise to upgrade my arsenal? I was thinking a newer spinning combo. Edit: forgot to mention that I want to fish in tournaments for my college so having a few more and nicer rods is needed. Otherwise I would be fine with what I have.

Swinghead jigs in early spring
I love them, from 1/4 to 3/4. I use them on deep rocks and on beds as well. I like a craw bait but have had success with swimsuits and long worms as well
-
Favorite spring crankbaits
wiggle warts when it is still cold and a flat sided spro work great
-
Lipless crankbaits for early spring pond bass
I haven't fished them a lot, but I will say that red baits in stained water during prespawn are phenomenal
