Anybody With Info on the Quantum Throttle
They’re nice For $100 I can justify the ounce and a half of weight compared to a tatula. When I’m saving a couple hundred dollars on my purchase and essentially its going to do the same thing. You just know with Shimano you’re going to get something quality. The tolerances are more consistent. I think that will make too many rails in that lower price category. The Exceller all those reels they’re basically the same thing. Then they jump up almost $100 to the Tatula. But they’re all going to do what they’re supposed to do just depends what you wanna pay. I hear you enjoy

Anybody With Info on the Quantum Throttle
I have a quantum spinning reel I’ve owned for many years and it’s worked fine. But I was recently let down when I bought a few quantum smokes pt 30 spinning and therre just was multiple things wrong with them. One of them didn’t turn smoothly the other one had a loose rotor. For what they charge it’s just unacceptable. He’s asking about the quantum throttle it’s a $40 real just go by the Shinano nexavr for 50 bucks, just better quality. You just have to check the reels out first and make sure there ok. When you’re purchasing through mail you don’t have that option. I do like quantum but shimano has so many good offerings it’s not much of a comparison. The new nasci are $100 there’s nothing that’ll compete with that reel at $100, Something Daiwa perhaps. It’s a $40 reel. I wouldn’t have high expectations for it.

Buy a shimano nexave. Quality control with quantum is poor. I would avoid.

Extra fast vs fast
Definitely, There’s more back bone in that rod. Great rod for that technique for sure. Lets you drive that hook a little bit more on spinning gear too. whereas with drop shot for me at least I’m throwing smaller hooks. Lets you drive that hook a little bit more. I think a fast action helps keep that hook pinned, but extra fast works too as long as you have the drag set properly. G Loomis makes a couple drop shot rods in an extra fast action . This is something that took me a while to figure out and I had to loose a lot of fish, but I have my drag perfect now where I can put a good amount of pressure sure before they pull any drag on 6-8lb fluoro leader. I must say I was impressed with my hundred dollar 6 eight medium extra fast bass x Rod.

Extra fast vs fast
I purchased my first extra fast rod the other day it’s a 68 medium extra fast Saint Croix Bass x. Normally I use a 7 foot medium Irod genesis three, Which is fast. I think the big kicker here is the length of the rod. When you move to a shorter rod the action of the rod is a lot stouter and I felt like I got a lot more power controlling the fish. Obviously there’s less give in the rod. In this case to Saint Croix blank is a little denser and in my opinion better quality than the irod, even though the eye rods cost $40 more, the Saint Croix‘s are better . But that extra fast tip is really nice. They’re both good. I think there’s more potential to lose fish on an extra fast set up because it’s a little less forgiving but as long as you have everything set up you should be fine. For this application I had drag on the spinning reel 10 pound test with 6lb leader. Extra fast actions are harder to make for rod companies. That’s why there less common. When you do find an extra fast action it’s usually a decent rod because it actually takes some work to make that tip like that.

Maxima Fluorocarbon
Sounds good. I decided it’s either Invisx or sniper. I’ve used both and they’re good. I like sniper a bit more due to the sensativity. I was looking at assassin fc too. I haven’t tried Berkeley. Thanks ?

Maxima Fluorocarbon

Carolina rig vs Football Jig line
Because with a Carolina rig traditionally youre throwing a half ounce weight connected to the main line and then usually a lighter line on the second part after the swivel. A football jig or any jig is just connected to the main line. With a Carolina rig you can throw a half ounce but you can throw a light liter like a 10 or 8 pound to get more of a finesse presentation of you like! I use this in Cali
