  1. I picked this up last year and its probably my favorite handgun to shoot. Sig Emperor Scorpion
  2. In the cold months I carry a Glock 19x because I can conceal it easier. Warmer months I carry a performance center M&P .380 with an extra magazine.
  3. I always carry out on the boat. Depending on what im wearing ill either carry on my person or stow it in one of the boats compartments. When im fishing at my family's private lake I keep it on me incase I see a beaver while out on the water. We have a big problem with them damming up the creeks that flow into the lake.
  4. Sounds like a job for the pros lol. Thanks for the info!
  5. This might be a stupid question but can you buy new guides or inserts for the guides if they do become rough or nicked up?
  6. Thanks for the feedback ill defiantly keep a close eye on my frog combo. Defiantly don't want a random break off and risk losing one of my frogs. Those were dirtiest when I cleaned mine today. Ill try the KVD next time I swab them out. Thanks!
  7. Interesting. I have a combo set up with braid for top water fishing. It hasn't gotten much else yet but ill keep an eye on it. Thanks for the feed back!
  8. I was out this afternoon casting around and noticed a faint grinding sound when I was reeling in. I listened close to the reel and found the sound was coming from the guides as the line came through. I cleaned, oiled and greased my reel this spring but didn't pay any attention to the rod. When I got back home I took a q-tip and swirled it around the line guides and I couldn't believe how dirty they were. Im assuming the noise I was hearing was crud on the line rubbing on the smaller guides. Should I be cleaning my guides more often? They are stainless steel with titanium oxide inserts.
  9. I agree. Same where im at too. I was referring more to summer hot days I should have clarified. You said it best when the water is still warming up the sunny areas can be good spots to find bass
  10. I don't fish with any fish finders or any equipment like that so it can be a challenge determine depth but I personally like to fish any kind of cover (lay downs, stumps, Lilly pads etc). If its a hot sunny day I look for shaded areas. My thinking is if I was a fish I wouldn't want to be baking in the sun lol. Of course that could be completely wrong but it works good for me at my normal fishing spot. I cruise around on the boat until some piece of cover is well shaded and give it a go. Accuracy and patience play a big role for me when I think ive found a good hole they might be hiding in.
  11. Im thinking something like that was the problem. From all the replies here I don't think the 17lb line was the problem. Its more likely something I screwed up lol Awesome that's good to know. Thanks!
  12. My girlfriend and I fish together almost every weekend. When we are out on the lake we are in a aluminum Jon boat. I sit up front to even out the weight of the boat (battery and trolling motor in the back). I fish sitting down always while she stands most of the time. We try to keep the boat parallel to the bank so we both have opportunities to fish. She cast over my head when she's standing (with a warning of course lol). Obviously this isn't something to trust to anyone. I wouldn't let most of my fishing buddies cast over my head. Thats just how we do it and it works out great!
  13. I sit when I fish out of my small aluminum Jon boat. Mostly because I move around to much and rock the boat when I stand lol. Sitting is just more stable. My girlfriend goes out with my every fishing trip and she stands most of the time so she can cast over my head (if needed). I can cast further standing but I usually only need to cast far if im bank fishing.
  14. That seems to be my experience as well. I have 50lb braid on my Mach 2 and I use it for topwater. Mainly for frogs. I use it because the fish in the lake I go most frequently can be line shy and from ive read fluro is best line as far as being invisible underwater. When it comes time to respool ill try out Tatsu line. Thanks for the info! Thank you for the info! Ill defiantly keep that in mind about stretching my line after its been on the reel for awhile!
  15. How often is ideal to change the line out? I usually fish every weekend so I go through line decently quick with retying baits and such. I soak my spinning reel in warm water im not sure why ive never done it with my Baitcasters. I don't ever use conditioner after the initial spool onto the reel. Ill start spraying some on ever now and then. Thanks for all the advice! Great to hear! Im looking forward to getting properly familiar with the set up and making the adjustments it needs while im out on the lake.
  16. Im hoping this combo will be good for a couple years at least. Its my first mid-range (if that's what category it falls in) baitcaster and compared to the cheap stuff I learned on its fantastic. The 2021 has the magnetic and centrifugal breaks. I haven't fined tuned it yet because I don't really understand it lol. I have 2 of the 4 centrifugal breaks on and adjust the magnetic like usual. I haven't had it out on a all day trip yet but looking forward to seeing how it does
  17. Could be my casting technique. Not loading the rod enough and casting with to much whip. If I roll casted with the 17 pound it would cast fine. The 17 pound just looked and felt so thick so that's why I was wondering if the line was just to heavy for the reel. Ill probably go back to 17 again and try it out. I fish around a lot of lay downs and want insurance I can drag and rub against the wood. This is my first season using fluro so im not sure what will work the best. Im used to using 10 pound mono and spinning gear and never had a problem breaking a line due to abrasion.
  18. Its the Lews mach crush slp rod, 7 foot medium heavy, fast action. I was throwing a Texas Rig with a 1/4 bullet weight. I did notice when I used a 5/16s weight it casted better. I also tossed some 3/8s crank baits but that was a nightmare. The line I have on now is the P-Line 100% fluro isn't the fluroclear just coated in fluro?
  19. I was having the issue on my 2021 Lews Mach Crush combo Is P-Line known to have breaking issues? I read good things about Invisx but didn't want to buy more premium line just to experiment with Is using the "Quote" button to reply the correct way? Not sure as I've never been part of a forum before
  20. This is my first post here and I apologize in advance as im sure this topic has been discussed before but im wondering if anyone has had any issues going from 15lb fluro to 17lb floro on a Baitcasters? I had 17lb SeaGuar Invizx on it and no matter what I did I couldn't get it to cast more than 20-30 feet without starting to backlash. I eventually roll casted from the bank and smacked the bank and well I couldn't save the line lol. I replaced the line with 15lb P-Line fluro and its night and day. I can whip it out a good 100 feet without any issues at all. Same bait, hook and bullet weight as before. Only difference is the 2 pound lighter line. I suppose my question is will 2lb lighter line make that much of a difference? Could it be P-line vs SeaGuar? I absolutely could have spooled on the SeaGaur incorrectly or maybe to much. Im no professional by any means. Thanks for any help!
