  1. Well no pictures again tonight I was wading a lake, definitely not keeping my phone in my pocket for pics lol. I feel good finally got around to catching some on a fat ika probably 10 fish mostly dinks. Caught my last fish of the day he put up a good fight, hooked up and the next thing you see is him jumping straight out of the water about 18 inches, lowered my rod tip kept tension fought him right next to me went to grab him fish acrobatics again this time he threw the hook ?never got to hold him but he was right next to me, probably 16 inches or so. I thought about it was probably time to retie my hook when he threw it it snapped off lol. All in all it was a good night and the bonus was I only used one soft plastic for 1.5 hours.
  2. A little something something, smaller beaver fried watermelon, sweet beaver green goby, 2 packs spicy beaver one blank check and the last is sungill, two sexy dawg hard knock and last but not least 3 packs of rattles in different sizes.
  3. The monkey ? beat me over the head today, I don’t know if I should be happy or sad lol.
  4. My wife asked me why I was going to go fishing in the rain, I told her that I had a feeling top water was calling. Nothing special but I got my first few buzz bait fish today and my first frog fish of the year ? I would have had 2 on the frog but I think I blew the hook set, too early I think. He was on but came off oh well I am great full either way. Buzz bait fish 18.5x11.5 frog fish 17x12 it was a good day.
  5. Well I finally caught my first jig fish today, three total on the jig nothing huge 13-14 inches but I am extremely happy ?. Caught a 16 inch on a walking bait while getting my braid hung up on a log lol. Went to get my line off it and it exploded on my lure just setting there. The thing I am most happy about today is that I put my soon to be 14 year old daughter on her pb largemouth, of all things a nose hooked super fluke white with chartreuse tail, her first time ever using that bait. 18 inches long and 11.5 girthh
  6. I know by experience that rods made before 2020 don’t need proof of purchase. I recently had my conquest 843mbr snap into three pieces on the hook set of a 12 inch bass, was only running 10lb invis x and the drag was not locked down all the way on my metanium b xg. Had to check my email I received when I inquired about the issue and that is what they told me.
  7. Some more stuff from a run to get toilet paper and formula for the baby lol. Having my favorite tackle store right down from the store is a bad thing lol. I need a bigger tub for my soft plastics, I have most of my whole collection in there.
  8. Some stick baits, yum, Yamamoto, Kalins, berkley and of course a brand some people don’t like. Gambler heavy cover swim jig in bluegill then some small strike king jigs 1/16 - 1/4 oz some owner twist lock hooks 3/0 4/0 some baby brush hogs a pack of zakos and bearded the deuce and crazy legs chigger craw. I like to try all sorts of different brands, I am not loyal to just one. I like to try different brands and form my own opinion, almost forgot coffee tubes in natural goby. My Father’s Day gifts were great, but nothing compares to being a father and teaching my kids.
  9. My tiny fish of the day, wait my only fish of the day lol. I will take it happily though first time at this lake and first cast. We did have some pretty good thunderstorms last night today also.
  10. My recommendation would be a st croix mojo bass. I have had mine for a year and it has been through everything and still going strong. I will need to replace it here in the future when it finally breaks, had a bit of a accident last year with it when I got off the water with my kayak. It was dark out loaded the kayak on top of the car and went to the front of the car to grab my rods, I forgot that there was a wind. As I was walking towards the front of the car I heard a crunch. Wind blew my rods over and I stepped on it, didn’t break but it gouged the blank. Still going strong though.
  11. Well no pictures of my latest one I caught, I was wading at a park of one of my old local haunts before I moved to Kalamazoo. I showed up and it was busy like I figured it would be with 90 degree temperatures here in Michigan today. I saw maybe five or six people all with rods but nobody was fishing. It was windy like I figured it would be, luckily I brought my spinning rod with me ? I have a metanium dc but I have been killing it lately on a weightless trick worm and felt like fishing more than trying to fight the wind with a light lure. I made 10-15 cast and caught a 17 inch largemouth, left my phone in my car to keep it from getting wet. I didn’t want to keep it out of the water any longer than I had to, so I didn’t grab my phone. I also didn’t want anyone asking me to give them the fish either, I just let them go. It was comical watching everyone wade out to where I was fishing afterwards to try and catch a fish though lol. I accomplished what I wanted to I caught my fish and went back to spending time with my family, it was a good day ?
  12. Congratulations and great job, now on to the next one.
  13. 3 packs missile baits Ned bomb, golden shiner core, baby bass tail, purple cloud chartreuse tail. Some Nedlock Z in 1/15 oz size 2 hook. Then we have some Grande air tail shad in ballistic gill. Then to end it some X Zone muscle back craw and adrenaline craw in Border craw color. Just my normal trip to the tackle store after finishing the work week. They are remodeling the store and stuff keeps moving, just another reason to stay in there a little longer lol.
  14. Some more stuff for my collection some jigs, trailers and a blade bait.
  15. Pre rigged crawler harness, just beat my childhood fish the other day lol. That took me way too long lol.
  16. I have a GLX 894 and it will handle above that a little ways, I have heard of people going up to 1oz or a little bit over that even on the jwr before. I have thrown a 3/4 oz football jig plus a trailer and the rod didn’t feel overloaded. I struggled with the ratings being so low myself before also on the jwr ratings, I am sure you will get some better advice from someone that’s a little more knowledgeable than me on the rod ratings.
  17. Went in the store just to buy a pack of speed worms, $40 later lol
  18. Also in my limited experience like on Monday, I was fishing weightless worms. First was a zoom 7 inch speed worm in California 420 color. The water was heavily stained low visibility, they were absolutely destroying it. I got snagged on a tree cause I run my hook exposed a little bit. I decided to try a purple senko next. I caught a fish after a lot more effort and time, senko flew off while bringing the fish in so back to the speed worm and they were going crazy again. So what I learned was that both of the colors were good for water clarity but the speed worm vibrated when fished the same way so that helped them locate it a little bit easier. So in the end I figured out what they wanted that day, sometimes it’s the little things we overlook that are the difference between catching 8 fish or just one. I hope this helps, have a good night.
  19. Thank you everyone that replied JWall14 gunsinger HaydenS AmmoGuy MIbassyaker I greatly appreciate it. Yeah I need to get a scale, I really haven’t ever kept track of my weight of my fish. Now I have a reason to.
  20. Large mouth went crazy on the Kalamazoo river today on a weightless California 420 speed worm, lol I had to work harder to catch a smaller one on a weightless senko. Could have been the color though, senko was purple. I like purple the fish today not so much.
  21. I got the biggest fish of the year for me so far, probably my life also. 19 inches long and 12-14 around it was not cooperating for the measurements very good lol. I would guess maybe what 1.5 lbs if I am lucky ? I also caught seven other fish and lost a decent one also.
  22. I live near Gull road and have not had any luck out of the river near me, most of my luck has been in Allegan county for smallmouth. Doesn’t mean there not here just means I haven’t figured it out yet. I do ok with largemouth around here. I saw a fish yesterday when I was walking under a bridge carrying all of my gear with me. It was close to a rocky bank, didn’t get a good look at it so I don’t know if it was a smallmouth or not. If I figure out a pattern or get on them I will let you know what worked. Good luck, the river can be decent although it is all about location. There is one part of the river in otsego that has caught my eye for a while. It looks perfect for smallies to me although I haven’t quite figured out how to get to it to fish it yet.
  23. Haven’t thrown mine yet, although I did get some on top water today though. I like having little ponds nearby. The thing feels like bath water lol. Surprised me last night clearing algae of my spinner bait at 10pm, figured it would be cold nope.
