Wacky - Set Up Hook
I wacky rig Senkos with an O ring and a Gama #1 Octopus Circle hook for largemouth bass. This usually works pretty well for me.

Thanks for the explanation. I guess you fish these wacky style with the hook thru the center of the Wormz. Is this correct?

You said you used 'flick shake' (jighead wacky) using a Zman finessee WormZ. Is this a Worm wacky-riiged on a jig head? If so I wonder what size worm and jig head? Thanks for any explanation.

Bass bite slowed down!
Fishing has also slowed way down here in my favorite pond in South Florida. I see their wakes along the shoreline around dawn but they seldom bite on any of the baits that are usually effective. Don't know what they're eating but they don't want my offerings.

Home Storage Box for Hard Plastic Lures
I found some boxes on amazon that I think I’ll order. They are Sterilite brand clear plastic boxes with latched lids. Measurements 14” x 11” x 3.25”. They are stackable. Six-pak for $26.99.

Home Storage Box for Hard Plastic Lures
That seems like a good idea. Thank you. I also found some flat clear plastic "under the bed" storage boxes online that look good. These are something like 30"-34" x 18" or so and not very deep.

I would like a wide shallow hard plastic box with a lid so that when I lift the lid I can see all my hard baits lined up inside.

Home Storage Box for Hard Plastic Lures
Thank you. I don't want bonnets. I just want a flat box to beep my boxed lures inside. I don't want to carry the box. I just want it for home storage.

Home Storage Box for Hard Plastic Lures
Thanks for your suggestion, but NOT like a tote or bag. I want a flat box so that when I lift the cover I can see all my hard baits side by side in the box. The box would probably be made of clear or opaque hard plastic. I don't need an expensive tackle box or waterproof container.

Home Storage Box for Hard Plastic Lures
I’m looking for a box or boxes where I can keep my hard plastic fishing lures at home. I fish from shore and would not be taking the boxes with me. They would be strictly for storage at home. I would like to keep the baits in their boxes. I don’t want or need a sectioned box or one that is waterproof. Just a simple flat plastic box that isn’t very expensive. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Finding Those Active Feeding Windows
I used to fish for Speckled Sea Trout from a johnboat anchored at a little grassy spot in the Gulf at the mouth of a river in Pasco County, Florida. There I found the “bite’ to be reasonably predictable. If I was there at sunrise during the Spring and Fall months and the tide was moving, not dead high or low, I almost always was able to catch at least 3 or 4 trout before the bite stopped, usually less than a half hour after it started. The trout would come in from wherever they spent the night and chase bait at that location at sunup. This was pretty predictable as was the fact that they would not bite when the tide was not moving nor during the coldest and hottest months of the year when they would go elsewhere. A couple of years ago I moved south to Collier County, Florida near a large freshwater pond where I fish from shore for largemouth bass. Here, I found the bass bite to be less predictable. As before, I fish at sunrise and most days I’m able to catch some bass. But each day is different. Most days I catch about three bass usually between 1 and 3.5 pounds. But some days I hook up with them on almost every cast and other days, nothing at all. I don’t notice any correlation between the weather or other conditions that would affect the bass bite. I don’t understand it, but it certainly is interesting, and I think I like it better this way than if it was the same every day.

Finding Those Active Feeding Windows
Zcoker says: "And being in the right place at the right time is a matter if indifference, in my opinion, because it appears that these bite windows go off like an atomic bomb, blasting the entire body of water...the fish flash-off all over the place. It's as if a single telepathic message is sent throughout the waterways. “ I have oberved this and to me it is what makes fishing so mysterious, unpredicatable and interesting.

Share your crazy fishing stories.
One dark night a few years back I took my john boat out into the Gulf to do some snook fishing. I found a good spot at the mouth of an inlet and tossed my anchor over the side. All of a sudden there was something thrashing around inside my boat. It was dark and I couldn't see what was happening. It kind of scared me so I stood up on a seat to get out of the way . When I turned on my headlamp I saw a big Tripletail jumping around in the boat below me. I guess the anchor scared it and it jumped, landing in my boat. Tripletail are tasty and it made a few good meals. I never did catch any snook that night.

I'm right handed and have been using spinning gear in the past with the reel handle on the left. I'm thinking about getting a left handed casting reel and wonder if there would be any diadvantage to this. I notice that most of those I see in the YouTube videos use right handed reels.

Thanks for all your recommendations for reels. I would also appreciate any suggestions for rods to go with the reel for chatterbaits, 3/8 oz size plus trailer. I understand that moderate/medium action rods work best because they flex enough the allow the fish to get hooked more easily. I’ll be fishing from shore.
