  1. An unweighted Zoom Super Fluke with 3/0 Gamma EWG hook.
  2. Can you tell me who sells these?
  3. What weight and length do you use?
  4. Is this a fast retrieve without pauses or twitches? Is this what some call "burning" it? What lipless bait(s) do you use?
  5. I've not fished with these much before and wonder what is a good way to retrieve these shallow running crankbaits-- slow retrieve, fast retrieve with twitches or pauses or ? Thanks for any help.
  6. It has been recommended that I go with heavier pound test mono which would help to keep the lure suspended since mono floats. I guess I would normally fish with 15 or maybe 12 pound test mono. How much heavier should I go? I'm using spinning gear.
  7. What pound test mono would you recommend for baits that I want to suspend?
  8. I use braid and I've been told that it floats and that mono sinks. Did I read this wrong? Also what is a wakebait and can you name any for me that might be appropriate for my pond. Thanks very much!
  9. Thank you. Why would you use heavy mono?
  10. I’m in Florida and fish for largemouth bass and an occasional Peacock in a shallow pond with a grassy, weedy bottom. Any lure that runs deeper than about a foot or so picks up grass and becomes useless. I’ve been using mainly Texas rigged worms, topwater lures and the Rebel Jumpin’ Mullet which suspends just below the surface when retrieved. Many lipless crankbaits have been mentioned favorably in this forum, but I don’t know if any of them would swim high enough so that I would have any success using them in my pond. There are so many that have been mentioned and I can’t buy them all. These seem to be popular: Rattletraps, Red Eye Shad, Yozuri Vibes, Spro Aruku Shad, Cordell Super Spot, Booyahs, Excaliburs, Rapala Rippin Rap and Rattlin Rap, Storm Arashi Vibe, etc. I wonder if any of these run shallow enough for me to consider buying?
  11. What color or is it a secret?
  12. Also could you tell me if you are able to catch more than one fish on one Finesse worm and, if so, how?
  13. You say you rig them Texas style in the nose. A Texas rigged worm is not a wacky rig is it? I guess I don't follow your explanation but it does sound interesting. Could you elaborate a little, please? Unless it is a secret I would be interested in more info about the worms you use, like are these Zoom Trick Worms and what is that favorite color?
  14. Thank you. I'll give that a try.
  15. I was given a Zebco Slingshot that I have not used. It is only 5' 6". Do you think that would work for 1/8th oz. baits and largemouth bass up to about 20"? I would be using my Daiwa 2500 spinning reel.
  16. Thank you for this information.
  17. I’m most interested in either the Diawa Aird-X 6'6" MLFS or the 13 Fishing Defy Black Med Light power, Fast Action, 1 Piece. I have searched online and cannot find an Aird available and the 13 Fishing Defy Black is only available in the 7 foot length which may be OK. I looked at Tackle Warehouse and Tackle Direct among others. Elsewhere I have seen some recommendations for BPS Microlite rods and maybe I should consider one of these. To repeat I’m looking for an inexpensive spinning rod about 6 ½ foot for shore fishing with 1/8th to ¼ oz. lures for largemouth bass which will mostly range from 14” to 20”. My reel is a Daiwa 2500 with 15 lb. test braid and 15 lb. fluorocarbon leader. Thanks for your help.
  18. Thank you. I'll pss on the Tourney Special and look into the Fish Eagle. Thank you for this advice. Thank you. Is that the medium or medium light, 1 or 2 piece?
  19. Thank you for this advice about going for a 7' rod. Thank you. What model, length, etc. do you suggest?
  20. Thank you. Could you tell me what model #, length, etc. of the rod you recommend? Unfortunately the nearest store is 150 miles away. Thank you. That looks like a good choice. I think is is $50.
  21. I would like advice on an inexpensive (under about $60), 5 ½ to 6 ½ foot spinning rod for pond fishing from shore for largemouth bass. I expect most of the bass to be between 14” to 18” with an occasional one 20” or so. I’ll be casting mostly 1/8th oz. baits on a Daiwa 2500 reel with 15 lb. test braid and 15 lb. fluorocarbon leader. I’ve reviewed earlier posts on this forum where people have recommended the following rods and I’d appreciate some opinions from any of you folks who have knowledge of any of these rods or any others that you might recommend. Bass Pro Tourney Special 5'8" Medium 4-12 lbs., 1/8 - 1/2 oz. $50 Bass Pro Micro Lite rods 6’ 1/16 Oz – 3/8 oz. Medium Light Power, Fast action $60 Lew’s Laser HS 5’6” or 6’ $30 Walmart Okuma Celilo CE-S-602UL-1 6’ 1/32 oz-1/4 oz. $30 Bob
  22. Thank you, Tom. Can you describe the setup for the jig under bobber technique. Do you tie the jig like a foot or so below the bobber? What kind of bobber is best and do you twitch it or do a straight retrieve?
  23. Thank you for these suggestions. I think I'll try my luck with a stupid tube next. I wonder what size tube and hook for the Strike King Bitsy Tube?
  24. In June I took up my now favorite pastime of fishing for Largemouth Bass & Peacock Bass in a pond here in South Florida. The pond is about 100 acres, maybe 8 feet deep in spots with grassy bottom and the water is reasonably clear. So far I have been fishing mostly with Zoom and Senko worms on my 7’ spinning rod and have been catching some. My maximum was a 21” Largemouth and a Peacock about that same length. I thought maybe I’d like to try something new and different and am considering getting some hair jigs or marabou jigs. I would appreciate it if any of you who have used these think they might work OK for me and, if so, what I should buy and where would I get them. Thanks a lot for any help.

Someone said it was a lemon shark but I don't know.
