My newest combo is a winner!!
Dude..let me tell you something...and I DON'T say this often at all...in fact, I've only said it once before to someone I just met:. If you lived near me, I'd take you fishing with me ANY day of the week lol!

My newest combo is a winner!!
I'm going tomorrow to catch some big 'uns. I'm a big proponent of just doing what you enjoy while you're fishing, and I've had a hell of a lot of fishing fun using $15 combos from Kmart back in the day... Now though with the limitations of my right arm and hand, pretty much dictates that I have to have something lightweight. I caught more fish on that Kmart special then I have on all of the other rods and reels I own combined, and I'll be honest with you, I never knew the difference. I just had a lot of fun and that's all that I remember, which is what I think is most important.

My newest combo is a winner!!
My workhorse is a Revo sx. I knew the MGX was smaller, but didn't know it was THAT much smaller until I held it at the store. I got the HS one, so the 6.3:1 would be even smaller than mine bc of the bigger gear in the 8.0. It's exactly what I wanted: a smaller more compact reel that is super lightweight to match with a super sensitive lightweight rod for finesse fishing with weightless or 1/8th oz max weighted Texas rigs. Honestly though...1-3 ounces is hard to detect. I only notice how light the new combo is when holding it side by side with my Revo SX/veritas TE combo.

Fanta-seesta. Yep! $150 off. Couldn't pass it up lol! It's a tiny form-factor. Perfect

My newest combo is a winner!!
I got a new Abu Garcia Fantasista X rod and paired it with an Abu Garcia Revo MGX. The rod is 7' MH/Xfast. The reel is an 8.0:1. The combo together, without line, is 9.23oz. Took it out and caught a 4lb largemouth on it. It was awesome

What is your go to “I’m 100% gonna catch” lure?
Because throwing frogs is fun no matter what.

Oakley Prizm shallow water lenses
I picked up a set of Prizm Shallow Water XL lenses to go with my flak 2.0SI desert frames. I'll let everyone know if they're actually better than my copper/brown polarized Walmart specials or not.

What is your go to “I’m 100% gonna catch” lure?
Four inch powerbait pit boss. Never lets me down ever.

Ned Rig Baits
Get some procure gel and put 2-3 drops in the bag the night before and smoosh it around. Elaztec soaks up the gel. Bass won't let go.
-
Ned Rig Baits
I've caught a hell of a lot of fish on both. Z-Man is my preferred brand of stick baits.

Ned Rig Baits
I use Z-Man products a lot. I love them. Very durable. The plastic is soft, so fish crush down on it and get the hook 95+% of the time. Is that what your question was? I use both the finesse TRD and big TRD stick baits.

Oakley Prizm shallow water lenses
Lol! I've worn Oakley sunglasses since the 80's (d**n I'm old), and just figured if people agreed that the Prizm shallow water lenses were worth it, I'd buy a set to fit my flak 2.0 frames.

Oakley Prizm shallow water lenses
Anyone have or use them? I've been debating for a long time on getting a set of lenses, but wanted to hear from someone who had them. I wear Oakley polarized glasses...just wondering if the fishing specific lenses actually had any benefits beyond just the standard polarized ones?

Finicky fish lately
Recent cold fronts have rolled through and the fish are just starting to heat back up again, managed to go out today and catch a few nice ones including this one:

When is a good spinnerbait scenario?
I like throwing them right past the base of cypress trees and slow-rolling it past them...one cast on each side of the tree. I think of them the same way I do as beetlespins..but for bass.

The Hawg Hunters
That's why I think it's funny when I see people with 15-20 rods on deck. I typically fish with two rods, MAYBE three. One pit boss, one modified Ned rig, and one lighter lb/test with either a big trd or a baby brush hog. Never have problems catching the big 'uns. To be honest though, I consider anything above 4lbs to be "big" because realistically, 5lbs is generally considered to be about the biggest most casual fisherman (weekend warrior pond fishermen) can expect.

Thumb guards for bass fishing?
Yep...happened to me Wednesday.

Finished the week in decent fashion
I caught roughly 50-60 fish this week, with the biggest just over 7lbs, and several in the 4-5lb range. It was a great week of fishing!

Best Fishing Store You’ve been in
My favorite doesn't exist any longer. It was an older guy who just ran an outdoor shop. He'd order anything you wanted. I got him to order a case of Winchester AA's in #6 shot (which was hard to get) for me back in the day. He passed away years ago and his family just let the store go and closed it. I miss going there and talking to him.

Thumb guards for bass fishing?
It's the part of my thumb past the first knuckle.

Thumb guards for bass fishing?
Anyone use one of these? I'm not trying to humble-brag, but I've caught so many bass in the last two days that my thumb was bleeding from lipping so many fish. I tried using tape to keep going, but it kept coming off.
