  1. Yeah I love to throw a fluke as well!
  2. Been grinding it out in the cold, rain, etc. but landed my P.B. Coming in at 3.13lbs. Caught on a Texas rigged Strike King cut-r worm. After a DMV appointment, I had an hour window to fish. Funny thing is I caught this on a zebco travel combo because I had no intention on fishing that day.

  4. Thanks! haven't seen any gators yet luckily lol. Just about every spot has a sign up warning about gators.
  5. thanks! cool. I think that was my major issue. thank you.
  6. I appreciate it gentlemen! you guys are a wealth of knowledge.
  7. From what I understand you set up your reel for pitching a specific way and I don't want to change settings back and forth as I present my bait. My idea is to have one setup for the application I like to throw. I have a worm/plastic setup, a jig setup, jerk/crank setup, etc... In my mind it makes it easier, maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm wasting money lol.
  8. Yeah I saw that forum. I was browsing there earlier. So regardless of budget, what would you suggest? I don't mind going above that as long as it's quality gear that I can get my money's worth out of.
  9. Typically laydowns and lilly pads, mainly, moderate at worst. I'd be throwing a weighted texas rigged worm or a swim jig with a craw creature trailer. While bank fishing at one spot last year I casted right between some lillies by accident and something big hit my bait. It had me wrapped up and of course broke me off because I was trying to get it out of there with a light test line compared to what I've read being used.
  10. I have been watching videos on pitching and flipping. I'm new to the concept and I remember this past year where I could have used this technique in some of the spots I've fished. I'm curious to see what you guys would suggest as a good rod and reel setup. I'm not looking to break the bank, however, I also don't want junk lol. Thanks for any input you guys may have. I'll go back to researching some more.
  11. That's crazy, congrats!
  12. Ha! that's true man. luckily I'll be heading that way for Christmas, just gotta sneak a couple poles in the vehicle with the wife and kids lol.
