Explain Shimano MGL for dummies like me
I consider the curado 150 MGL to have a shallower spool. It certainly has a larger arbor and shorter diameter than what I consider a "normal bass reel" spool. The chronarch is pushing it but its spool is light weight which also fits the bill. The thickness of the spool material greatly impacts the weight. If you look at a "G1 duraluminum" SV spool and its much lighter than a standard daiwa spool due to the spool being much thinner. A like for like comparison would be a tatula 100/ct spool compared to the elite long cast. The elite long cast is much lighter in construction due to the stronger aluminum but is otherwise identical. I belive the same applies to MGL spools vs non MGL but I only have MGL shimanos so I can't compare.

No. Its not shallow and light weight. If it was they would have an MGL version like they do with the scorpion 150 MGL which is a JDM curado 200k MGL basically.

Anyone use the Lew's Reactor rods or reel?
I would get a lews hank parker m spinning rod and then a daiwa revros. Under $100 and a much better reel than the mystery meat "lews" reel. Rod blanks are likely the same and you get cork instead of the meme grips.

Explain Shimano MGL for dummies like me
MGL is a made up acronym for a shallow ported shimano spool. There is no magnesium like an old ZPI spool or anything like that. It's a shallow ported spool with an SVS brake. While nothing fancy it is effective and the MGL makes for easy identification as a light weight shallow spool version of a platform without confusion with their shallow heavy spool variants for vertical jigging.

Yay! I i found a great bait even more $$ than a Yamamoto Senko.
For me it's the jackall dead fin darter. My fish see every variation of a stick worm pitched to docks and turn off to them by late spring. Skip this weird flat soft jerkbait looking thing to them and let it death spiral in their face and they will always pick it up. I've got a little stash of them from whatever stock I could find.

Sounds like the rod is similar to the hank parker lews walmart rods but with a cheap reel added in. If its $100 or under its a decent deal. If over that then pass.

Is there a better 200 sized casting reel for 1-3 oz swimbaits than a Curado K?
Tatula 150, Tatula 200, Tatula 300 are all in the ballpark in spool capacity. The 150/200 have the same spool dimensions as the 200k with the arbor of the 150 being slightly larger and the arbor of the 200 being slightly smaller. The 300 gets a narrow but large diameter spool with similar line capacity to the 200 with its wide but short spool. If you want to stick to the 200k form factor then the tranx 200 is a silver 200k with an aluminum side plate and some saltwater protection provisions.

Reel Squeal/Rattle - Oiled Bearings No Help
The thing the brakes contact to create friction and slow the spool. Clean with a q tip then assess the vibration on the cast. If it is still too excessive you can apply a light coating of oil with a q tip.

Reel Squeal/Rattle - Oiled Bearings No Help
Clean the centrifugal brake race.

BFS Rod Recommendations Needed (short list included)
I've owned both UL and L majorcraft BFS rods from a different line. If 1/8oz total weight is your goal the UL is a bit better but the L does it well too and can handle 1/4 oz with ease where the UL will struggle.

Diawa Tatula rods: CS Q vs CS V?
The cs stuff is chinease market. Usually sold on aliexpress or dropshipped on ebay with markup. I've never seen the rods before but there have been a few tatula cs reels over the years. The tatula ct black and gold to match the old tatula rods. A tatula ct type r in matte black. Special frame milling and red knob tatula ct sv. The fuego ct sv is a "cs" product as well. The rods appear to be 2 pc models in lighter and bfs tapers for the chinease market. The V is found on rods using the "air sensor" reel seat. You can check them out on their chinease market site. http://daiwachina.com/ProductList/info.aspx?itemid=580&scid=51

Good tricks to keep track of line size?
I size my reels and line to my rod powers. I'm not one to throw a weightless fluke on a MH with 20 lb flouro for example. That gets a M or MH rod with an easier handling diameter of flouro. ML: 10 lb flouro or 20 lb braid M: 12 lb flouro, 10 lb big game or 30 lb braid MH: 14 lb flouro or 40 lb braid H: 16-20 lb flouro or 50-65 lb braid H+: 20-25 lb flouro, 20 lb big game or 65 lb braid XH/XXH: 25-30 lb flouro, 20 lb big game or 65 lb braid

best baitcasting reel around $100
I like that this one has dual brakes instead of the inertial brakes of the regular extreme. Small reel with a 32mm spool too I believe. No long term reports on how they hold up unfortunately where as the slx and fuego ct are known qualities with the fuego ct being exceptionally robust. It's a contender though with that dual brake. Some aren't a fan but its a big plus in a budget reel to have the ability to go all centrifugal for max bomb cast distance with braid or max on the mag dial for slow speed control casting and skipping baits to targets. With just a single braking system you end up favored to one end of the spectrum with diminished results at the other. Magforce z also offers similar good broad spectrum performance. You can set a fuego ct up for max distance and only be a bit behind a good centrifugal reel then max the mag dial and only have a bit less control than an powerful magnetic and light weight spool reel when skipping/control.

G. Loomis Dream Finally a Reality!!!
Great tools but they are about as visually stimulating as an amish butter churn. I've fished them and they are great fishing tools but not something I would yearn for or dream about. You have very reasonable dreams. I dream about dumb things like megabass rods with weird handles.

left or right reel handle for spinning reel?
You don't change grips between casting and retrieving a spinning reel so there is no incentive to switch hands. Also spinning reels in lure fishing applications are typically used to recover slack line from rod movements which does not require the fine motor skills and endurance for continuous cranking.

best baitcasting reel around $100
Plenty of $99 and under reels will out distance the lfs with light weight baits. That's not the strong suit of the lfs. It's a simple and reliable reel for $99 that's easy to learn.

Piscifun reels?
I can provide some on the water feedback on the alloy m after two trips. Most will like the reel but I'm not impressed but not disappointed either. Its light weight and has a long handle but that's due to the carbon fiber handle and eva knobs. A lews lfs with the same $9 aliexpress handle would weigh the same. It palms very well with a 32mm spool keeping the frame height down. Maybe it's a better caster of light baits with that light weight spool but I'm casting and skipping a 3/8 oz jig and find the magnets to be very weak. On a normal distance cast on max brake setting I get some fluff as the spool spins faster than the 15 lbs basix can get out of its own way. I have this same experience with my centrifugal reels and flouro which is why I don't use flouro above 12 lbs on any reel with fast and free braking profile. It's not that the reel is a bad caster just that what I am seeing from the braking profile is not what I expect from a magnetic brake reel with a billion magnets in the side plate. Skipping control is also very poor requiring me to run considerable spool tension. I've used reels with effectively non functional mag brakes due to cheap weak magnets and this reel is not like that but I do believe it is using a large number of weaker magnets by design either as a cost cutting measure or to purposefully create this faster magnetic braking profile. I'm going to switch to braid and see how the reel performs. It think it will get out of its own way better and reduce the rotating mass of the spool when skipping to offer more control. I got mine reel for $66 but at the $89 they want for it on amazon I don't know. At the amazon price it's hard not to compare to the lews lfs.

If your reel's sideplate is not metal
Get a side plate and spool knob from the original tatula. Those were aluminum and fit the tatula ct frame. The tatula ct is just a plastic side plate narrow frame version of the old tatula. I think the colors even match if it's the old ct and not the 2020.

best baitcasting reel around $100
Fuego ct. It's big and clunky but a proven platform with lots of support. 20 years from now you should still be able to find parts since it shares so much with the tatula ct and HD reels dating back to 2013. I don't even know if "lews reels" will be around 20 years from now let alone parts for a specific reel. The magforce z centrifugally driven magnetic braking is also nice over a purely centrifugal or purely magnetic braking. The lfs is awesome but the one I had couldn't cast a frog as far as my fuego ct which isn't a deal breaker but I can't help but feel it should be dual brake like its bass pro sibling. The slx is awesome too and casts lighter weight baits very well with a 14 gram spool but is not going to have the level of control as the lfs for skipping. The fuego ct does both in a very rugged and long lived but clunkly platform.

IVCB-6 Brakes
No internal adjustment. You can move the race with the dial only.

which reel would you buy and why
Steez. I want to use flouro and skip baits. I don't like the way my shimanos handle those things.

Pflueger baitcaster parts?
Those are always analog dials to me. I go less or more. I don't pay attention to the number. Chances are a new one will just fall off again.

Left VS Right Hand Reels & Swapping Out Gear Sets
Nope, gears are either a right or a left. Didn't know they didn't make the 5.5 for the lefties. A 6.3 is your best bet.
