Looking to build the lightest spinning rod possible
I bought another kit and I'm searching for a matching kb. The kb could replace a kt or not and I use all of them. I'm definitely out to do this right. Kt*

I'll make some wraps on my frog rod, thing is ready to retire. Is it alone and done coat or multiple?

Looking to build the lightest spinning rod possible
I just bought the 20h 10h 5.5m and 4x 4.5 kts. All titanium torzite, for less than a hundred. I figured I'd play it safe. I rarely fish braid to fluoro, but when I do I tie a mean Alberto Lol. I'm going to pick up the blank in a week or two, after that I'll just need a tip top ( which I figured I'd wait to buy until I knew what blank I was going to get for sizing purposes ) a reel seat / grip, thread, permagloss, reamers, etc. Long way from finished but the ball is rolling.

I'll fish straight fluorocarbon or opt for copoly if the fc line is too much to deal with. Never a connection knots to pass through the guides

For me I'm looking at it as I'm going to put the best of the best into this. The 15% off sale will almost cover the jump to torzite.

Are those proper runners I linked?

I'm probably going to order guides tonight. 15%off easter sale for rod building parts. Lol What tip-top do I run? The sizes I'm also a little confused about. https://www.fujitackle.eu/fuji_torzite_t-mnttf_flanged Or https://www.fujitackle.eu/fuji_torzite_t-kgttf 5 of these for runners? https://www.hffcustomrods.com/product/fuji-torzite-kt-single-foot-titanium-guides/

Awesome, thank you. Is there a formula for spacing them? Or some universal guide? I'm assuming since these guides are designed different than anything else I've used that I could just measure side to side with a current rod? Thanks also for the recommendations for blanks Under 3 is crazy light! What length blanks were you using? And what was the so called "power"? Id call that 1.5.... unless I worked for them. ?

So 20, 10, 5.5, and 4 runners? Also I'm very interested in the g2 carbon split grips with the CCT aero reel seat. I know this may drive the weight up a bit, but from a sensitivity standpoint can it get much better? I say the 20 size butt guide because this rod could see 8-10 lb fluorocarbon on occasion. Also looking at more blanks to check out. I really want to go the mhx elite x but they're gone till the end of August. Does g. Loomis or Croix that comes in at weights comparable to the mhx or the k2?

Would this guide size also work well for straight fluorocarbon?

I think 6lb braid could definitely be used in place of size a thread. Both have a .005 diameter. Almost feel like it could work well. ?

I junk fish... this rod fills a very big spot in the line up. I carry one spinning rod and I want to go all out on one. Ive always bought nice casting gear but bought bargain type spinning gear.( Not ugly sticks but not NRXs either. ) This time I'd rather try building something amazing vs buying it. I feel like the value that I get in a custom is going to get me something that to buy from a high-end retailer I would not pay for. Lol As far as where this trial run rod would go. Probably make a nice walleye rig for my Dad. That's a great idea.

I thought so. Thank you for clearing that up for me. I'm going to sit down and do some research tonight since it's my Friday. I'm between the mudhole elite x and the k2. I think both would be amazing. Just figuring which will be best for me. Aside from everything else talked about, how recommended is it to maybe build something super cheap as a true practice run vs trying to get it right on something super high end the first go round??

I just checked out the videos. Seems like a good direction for guides. I fish sniper, haven't ever put time in with copoly. Probably time I give it a rip one day and see how I like it. Might have to be forced to make the switch after this build lol. Might also be wrapping my guides in small diameter braid to save too. ?

The 7'1” ML has a range of 1/16-5/8 lure rating and a 4-12 line rating? That's a big range!I wonder if it's slightly overstated? I really gotta practice the FG. I'm terrible at connection knots. I'll run 6lb fluoro on this setup

This in your opinion is the best performing guide system?

Ultimate has a nice ring to it. ? I love carbon fiber. ? How's the comfort of that grip configuration?

Are we talking several grams more going epoxy vs permagloss? It seems like such an insignificant amount of weight in my head. ( That's my inexperience talking lol)

This makes perfect sense. I'm brand loyal to a couple companies and each time I've fished outside of those brands I find they're " too stiff" " too soft" "too heavy " etc etc etc. You're saying use the bare minimum wrapping material correct?

So you're saying this blank is likely to be more of a light + action? That mhx rod recommend perfectly covers the range of baits and the line I'd pair it with. What blanks would you suggest? I'm very open to opinions here and every recommendation I get I'm going to research until I make my own decision. Everyone's idea of what's best is going to be a different, I want to ask questions and do research based on recommendations to find the starting point faster and take out most of the guess work. I strongly encourage professional debate in this thread regarding the topic to gather people's experience using certain components.

Is the weight difference negligible? I do hear those SiC Ti guiders are the cats pj's. Does the strength and durability justify the extra cash? I'm certainly not opposed as long as the weight difference is not going to have much impact. I'm only asking because of my lack of use with SiC Ti and I'm assuming you definitely have that. Lol

That's nuts!! My lightest rod currently comes in at 3.8 and I constantly find myself constantly reaching for it because of how comfortable it is to use. What brand and model blank comes in at 1.2?? Thanks for the advice!! I'll definitely be back and forth as I acquire the components.

What’s your go to bed fishing technique-lmb or smb
Chuck a jig for bigger bites on the outskirts. I like a bluegill imitating bait. Deps bull flat on the free rig

Whoda thought... I dig the whole schooling bait fish deal created with that swimbait. You should really paint those trebles red though. I'm going to when I steal your juice. ??
