  1. hey everyone, i have a major question, how can i figure out what type of baitfish is in this pond i fish in? i know there are bluegills, but i want to find out if there are shad or crayfish in the ponds. thanks for any help
  2. i know how you feel, i live near cleveland and my bass lakes are starting to freeze. the best advice i could give it to either got steelhead fishing in the lakes or wait and try ice fishing. it is nothing like bass fishing but it at least gets rid of the itch to get a line in the water and feel fish fighting.
  3. i do the samething but i use a fish tank, its a little challenging when i throw a crank in there to see its action but i can do it,
  4. i like bassin, and outdoors life if you also hunt is a good one.
  5. "find soft plastic lures and crankbaits in you pockets" happens to me all the time, actually found some lures in my backpack at school.
  6. i love this boat. i have just turned 16 and i got it about a year ago and this boat is great if you dont have room or the money for a big boat. the only things i have had problems with it is hard to control in wind, i dont know how hard it is to row i got the package with the 39 pound thrust motor and this thing works amazing on the boat. you have to watch what you bring and or how to put it on the boat because you run out of room quick. i mainly fish little ponds in the clevland area. P.S make sure you keep the rapair kit with you it sucks when you fishing and you get a hole in it by a rock or tree (has only happend once) the material is tuff, and i fish it hard
  7. after i read this book is when i realized i could be a pro, and now that is a dream im chasing. but the book is very good to me. and shaw grigsby has a book out like that, it also is a good book

GUILTY. when ever i go out shopping for new lures with like a friend they will show me a cheap lure and i cant buy it, i can only buy the expensive (5-10$) lures like rapalas, strike king, etc.
  9. lippin for me was hard to do for a wile just because the hook and it screwed up my thumb (now when i go fishing i try to get bass thumb to show i had a lot on. lol) and let me tell you just be ultra carefull with more than one trebel, it hurts like crazy when that thing goes in and the fish is still going nuts, take it from someone it happend to.
  10. welcome from the clevland area.
  11. rattle traps, i would never throw anything else but that, and would do pretty good. untill i saw my bro fishing plastics and NAILING fish one day.
  12. yeah my grandpa. when i go fishing with him EVERYTHING is wrong (even how i lip my bass) he knows everything about when bass will hit, what they will hit, and were they will be. but he cant catch bass to save his life. i think it is funny.
  13. hi, im 16 years old and i want to get into bass tournaments. now i have some questions about getting into tournaments, for one were can i go to register for the 2008 bass season? and are there like any entry fees per tournament? and my last question i live in the clevland area, do you know of any tournaments neer here

  15. i usually use either 4-3. once i go lower than that i start to get back lashes, it is hard using no brakes, thats for sure
  16. ok so i am looking at getting some braid and i have some questions about it. what kind of braid is good but still fairly cheap? what type of baits work good, and wouldn he fish beable to see the braided line easire than like mono or floro? thanks for any info.
  17. my type of technique is fast, thats why during the cold fronts i cant catch a fish at all. the only thing i can fish slow is a weightless worm for some reason. but if i have a rattle-trap, crankbait, or jerkbait. i constently finding myself working it fast even when im trying to work it slow.
  18. the best advice i think anyone can give you is to get out there and fish and practice. thats what i did
  19. thanks everyone for the replys, when i wrote that it was a new way i was wondering if anyone uses it because i have never heard of it (when i talk bout crankbaits all i have ever been told it just real in).
  20. so i was fishing with my uncle and he brought up a new way to use a crankbait, and i was wondering if any of you have used it or think it would work. could you use a crankbait kinda like a jerkbait?
  21. i like outdoor life. the only thing is that in the winter it is mainly hunting, but in the spring it turns into bass fishing. so if you hunt and fish it is the perfect i think
  22. when i use rattle taps i only use one kind the XPS rattle shads. but i use them all year round and most the time it is a fast retreve, but experiment with the retreve and stuff like that u never know what the bass want that day.
  23. i have bent ALL my barbs on all my rattle tras, crankbaits, top poppers, ant thing that uses 2 trebles (due to a hook into finger axident last year. but i really dont lose fish, as long as u get both hooks into him and it is a good hook set, just try to make sure they dont jump, just in case
  24. i was watching t.v and saw the mighty bite lure. it looked kinda interesting but i wanted to know what every one else thinks bout it. to me it looks like a gimik
