  1. Would a 7'3 heavy rod rated for 1oz handle a 6 inch magdraft? I know it wouldn't be ideal but could I get away with it? It's the heaviest rod I have.
  2. I have straight 6lb invisx on the medium light setup and 15 lb braid to 8lb, sometimes 10lb invisx leader typically on the medium setup.
  3. Does anybody use this hook for t-rigged dropshotting? I bought some and see that the hook is really light wire. Do you think that it would be better to use my 6'10 ML XF St Croix BassX rod when using this hook or my 7'1 M F Bass X rod?
  4. anybody in this forum repair and/or clean reels?
  5. I use this exact rod with the stock megabass hooks and have no issues. paired with a 2500 size Shimano Nasci and 6-8 lb seaguar invisx.
  6. what size line and which rod do you use? i've had good luck with a medium light rod extra fast rod with the 110+1 jrs because the hooks are so light wire.
  7. By the way, I am primarily a bank angler, so if anyone is looking for a boating partner for wheeler/wilson/pickwick, I would be grateful! I jump at all opportunities to get out on a boat.
  8. I'll have to try the mini chatterbait! The Evergreen SB 77 is the best walking topwater bait I have found, especially in the smaller sizes. It's $16 but I don't mind spending a little extra on topwater because if I toss it in a tree, it's my fault ?
  9. I was fishing Wilson Lake in Alabama this evening and had an interesting day. The bass were schooling on micro shad in the back of creeks. Like, 1.5-2 inch shad. Couldn't get them to bite anything I initially had tied on. Adjusted and tied on a 1/8oz Bill Lewis Tiny Trap and a 77 size Evergreen SB topwater and started crushing them. Boated 20 fish in about an hour and a half. Lots of fun. Any of you guys encountered a similar situation?
  10. I'll have to give that a try!
  11. What are your best baits and techniques for fishing rip rap in the fall? I fish primarily on Pickwick Lake in Alabama if this influences any of your choices. Thank you!
  12. when would you use a 1/4 oz buzzbait vs a 3/8 vs a 1/2?
  13. Another question: What would be the ideal trailer hook size for this?
  14. exactly what i was looking for. thank you!
  15. I'm a bank angler, and usually around this time of year on Lake Pickwick, bass will push shad up close to the bank of the rip rap I fish over 6-10 feet of water i would estimate. What would be your ideal spinnerbait size/brand/blade combination for this technique? Thanks!
  16. I wish but I fish on a budget. Mostly own St Croix Bass x rods. I have a really nice G Loomis crankbait rod that was gifted to me but other than that, $100-$120 rods.
  17. What size line and rod would you all use for a 3/4 oz spinnerbait?
  18. Caught a nice smallie on a big single colorado blade spinnerbait!
  19. I am going out night fishing on Pickwick Lake. I will be fishing on a rip rap bank that drops off to deeper water fairly quick. What would be your recommendations on bait selection? Color, size, whatever terminal tackle you use, etc for whatever baits you think I should try. Thanks!
  20. I've saw that most people use jerkbaits with straight flurocarbon. What are the benefits in your opinion to using braid to fluoro with this application?
  21. I fish on a budget and wanted to ask you guys what you think would be the best rod for a 110 size jerkbait out of the rods that I have. I have no preference on using a spinning rod or casting rod. The rods I have are: 6'10 ML XF St Croix Bass X Spinning Rod 7'1 M F St Croix Bass X Spinning Rod 6'10 MH F Lews Mach I Casting Rod 7'0 M Mod F G Loomis Crankbait Series Casting Rod (this is a really nice rod that was a gift from my father. Wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise. Ha!) 7'0 ML F Bass Pro Crankin Stick Casting Rod Also, feel free to give me a suggestion out of these rods that would be the most ideal for smaller jerkbaits such as an x rap or a Vision 110 jr. Thanks so much!
