  1. What are some lures and baits you guys like in the summer? I have no experience with bass and have no idea what lures to use right now. I currently have some senkos and trick worms and know how to use a good amount of lures. But not when. Thanks! -Devon
  2. I will, someone else recommended stopping somewhere too, I have a cabelas near me so I'll go when I can. Thanks!
  3. Ok, Cabela's is the only one around me that I know of but I will when I can.
  4. Ok thanks! I'll likely go with the Daiwa cc80 unless someone has a better suggestion.
  5. Ok, are all the brands similar at each price range? Daiwa makes the CC80 for about the same price, bass pro makes the megacast, and so on.
  6. I think I'll go with the CA80 reel. I'll do a bit more research, see if anyone else responds in the next few hours. Is tackle warehouse a good website to order it from?
  7. Less than $100 Ok I'll look into those. Thanks for all your help in this whole process
  8. Thanks Eric, I think im going to go with a Daiwa AIRD-X for the rod. Still doing research on reel and I dont know if I should do spinning or baitcast yet, spinning reels seem to be cheaper (that could be a bad thing too) but a baitcaster might be nice so I have more of an excuse to buy a new rod... All jokes aside thanks for your help! -Devon
  9. I have decided to purchase a Daiwa AIRD-X rod in 7' MH (havent purchased yet), is it better as a spinning or baitcasting rod and what reels would y'all recommend on it. I have no experience with baitcasters but I can watch youtube videos on them. Thanks! - Devon
  10. Thanks! $175 is a bit high, but I'll look at that Okuma and some casting reels in that range.
  11. Thanks! Any other good options? And what reels would you recommend (the cheaper the better).
  12. I want a rod that is less than $50 (or slightly above) to start bass fishing on. I have a trout rod, but lure weight is 5/8 oz max, which I don't think is enough for most lures and some baits. Ive looked at Daiwa AIRD-X's which might be a good decision, but I want more good options to look at. I also need to know if I should go with spinning or baitcast, I only have experience with spinning. Thanks! -Devon
  13. Would an UglyStik GX2 be a good rod for someone with little experience bass fishing? Is it a better or worse option than a Daiwa AIRD-X. If anyone knows rods in the same price range ($50) as those two that are good options I'm open to more ideas.
  14. I've been trying to figure this out for a while, how come you can't cast much over the rods reccomended weight without risk of breaking the rod, but you can pull up a big bass onto the bank without any issue?
  15. What kinda lures can you cast with the 3/4 oz max of the cherrywood
  16. Thanks! Seems like you all agree on that Daiwa, so i'll look at that.
  17. I want a bass rod (I have a trout rod, but lure weight is low) I found that Bass Pro makes a "King Kat" rod for $30. I dont want to the spend $100-$200 that most bass rods are, so I think its a good deal. I went through the options and made it to be a 7', medium heavy, fast action rod, which through my research, is good for bass. I was wondering if it would be good for bass. I was also wondering also if anyone knew a similarly priced rod (sub $50) that would be better.
