6-4-11...keel Weighted Rage Craw To The Rescue!
Well I have been waiting for a less windy day to try this rig out. Today was the day. It turned my morning of a few dinks into a good time!! I was using a Lamiglas Excel flippin stick with a Daiwa Viento, 20lb InvizX, 1/8oz Owner Beast keel weighted hook with a green pumpkin Rage Craw slathered down with Megastrike. I couldn't get a bite flippin the craw on a normal t-rig. After switching to the keel weighted hook I caught these two plus a couple smaller ones. I had to dig that big hook out of the bigger fishes mouth, and my hand fit easily in there. Don't know the weight but it was surely one of the bigger fish I have caught, 23.5 inches. I know the pictures are crap but I am alone so it is the best I can do. I had another thread about switching to Fluoro from braid. I was fishing today in some serious timber. The invizX performed flawlessly, especially with the bigger bass, she really dug down in the junk. Thanks for lookin Cliff

Abu Garcia Black Magic
I have a lefty black max as well. It has served me well. I actually haven't used it this season because it was replaced by a Revo and I haven't got another rod for it yet. It is definetly not a Revo, thats for sure. But I think for the price it is an excellent reel.

Why Didn't I Try Fluoro Before Now!!
So recently I ditched all my line which was 50lb Power Pro and replaced it with 20lb Seaguar InvizX. I have used it a few times in the last weeks for flippin/pitchin, squarebills/spinnerbaits, t-rigs, and weightless stuff. I haven't caught any big fish yet with it but I am loving the way it performs. Casts nicely, very quiet compared to the PP. Plenty sensitive for me and it has been holding up well to the timber I usually fish in. I only have one set up with CXX still on it, but I plan to replce it with a lighter lb test of the InvizX. anything I need to know about fluoro that I may not have read yet? I know the knots need to be slobbered on before tightening and to check for frays and such often. Any tips/advice is much appreciated? Thanks Cliff

Bandit 200 Pearl with Chartruse back Texas rigged Rage Craw, green pumpkin Jewel Eakins Jig, Rage Trailer. All of them work great when fished in timber. The crank is also effective around chunk rock.

Proper Plastic Worm Technique?
I followed advice from members here like Catt when I statred a few years back. I had a ton of luck with a t-rigged worm. Sadly I have kinda lost touch with this technique. I think it is about time I get back to it. It is hard to beat a blue fleck power worm on my home lake but I just don't throw it anymore. I will this weekend now thanks to this thread. Good Luck! Glad your back Top. Have fun on your trip, hope ya catch a biggun!!!- Crankbait Hooks
This year I started replacing my crank hooks. I use Owners and Gammy EWG. I use the same size that came with the crank. I haven't lost a fish yet. I mostly fish Bandit cranks and I have noticed a huge difference. Especially those Owners, I will probably just use them from now on, they are super sticky! Cliff- Electronics How To
Thanks for the info guys. I have done some reading and stuff. Can't wait for our next trip so I can see if I can actually make it work. I look forward to looking around some of the spots that I fish from my pelican. Not to mention the rest of the lake that we will be checking out from his Bass Cat.- Electronics How To
A new partner of mine has a Humminbird 998C SI on his new Bass Cat. I told him I would read up on anything I could so we can get this thing figured out. Can anyone guide me to an instructional video/website that can help me learn about this unit? Like I said it is not mine, he is an older gentlemen and willing to take me fishing, and he won't let me give him a nickel for gas or anything. I figured the least I could do was assit him in learning his new graph. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks Cliff- How Much Do You Bring?
I always take everything I own. 5 combos. Two bags. One holds four of the normal size plano boxes and has all my hardbaits. The side pockets hold sun block, pliers etc. The other is the same size bag but is full of all my plastics. Terminal tackle is stored in a small box in this bag along with a jig box. Thats it, thats everything I have. If I know I am making a quick 1-2 hour trip I will bring only two rods. Cliff- Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
It might help some, I really think you need some sort of large flat surface for it to truly be effective.- Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Yeah I bet you could attach a plate of some sort to it. Then in the event that you need the spare motor you could just remove the plate and be on your way. Like I said, I welded mine together. I bet you could make one just like it if you had a few self tapping screws.- Your Best Lure So Far This Year....

Here is a few different pics. Hope this helps someone out.- Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
You could give that a try, but I highly doubt it will be very effective. My rudder has a 1/8 inch thick steel plate that is 12x16 inches (I think, thats close anyway). It works awesome. Let me go take a pic then I will put it on here.- "if It Aint Raining We Aint Training"
Didn't the M240B replace the SAW?- What's Your Trip Of A Lifetime?
A nice Muskie trip would be cool. But for me I think I would take a trip to the Boundary Waters in Minnesota. Pike, Walleye, Smallies...get the best of everything!- What Does Bass Fishing Do For You?
Same for me. Just being out there enjoying the outdoors. I saw a Bald Eagle this morning. It was in an old dead tree not far from me, then it flew right over me. I don't know much about them, but this one in particular seemed freakin huge to me. It looked like it was six feet across its wings. Anyway, thats the kind of thing that makes it great being out there.- I Am Now A Believer
I have been adding it to everything as well. I like it. I also use it for cologne, the ladies really love it!!!- Awesome Day!
Good stuff man. Love the kid on the right with his Cub Scout hat on sideways!- Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I have the 8' Pelican. If you go through this thread you can see all the pics I posted of my rig. FYI....Having two men in the 8 fotter is not, in my opinion, a stability issue, it is just the lack of space. The boat still feels very stable. If you plan to fish with another person I recommend the 10', if you know your gonna be nby yourself the 8' is perfect. - Well I Am Back And An Update
