Bass Resource Mobile
Pretty cool. I just got a new phone with internet. Now I can read BR anytime and anywhere!!

New Look.
Like someone else mentioned I am glad BR is improving and stuff. However for me, most of the new features won't be used. I liked it the way it was. Either way, I will get used to it and I will still be here everyday to get my fix. Congrats BR! Cliff

Thursdays Outing
That was a luck shot, trust me. I had that fish being held over the side in the water for about five minutes trying to get my scale to work. Finally just snapped the pic and let her go. The bass was about 22" and pretty chunky. I have since got new batteries for my scale. I have weighed several items around the house and it seem pretty accurate.

Little League Coaches...anyone?
Thanks for all the info guys. We won today, 14-3. Had one homer, couple doubles and a couple triples. Plus our finishing pitcher pitched 6 up 6 down for the last two innings.

Thursdays Outing
Took a vacation day Thursday and went to the lake. Had my best outing so far this year. I only caught six but they were all good ones. This one in the pic was the biggest. All fish caught on a crank. The big one came off of a point, which I later learned from a nice man walking his dog on the bank, is actually a rock wall with a rock pile on the end of it. He told me if I moved out a bit and fished the rock pile he guaranteed I would catch one. I took his advice and it worked. Thanks for lookin Cliff P.S. This fish was caught, with ease, on my Lamiglas 703C ML rod. Great fight!

I think most of it is in play. For example.....pitch gets past catcher and that pitch was the fourth ball, runner takes his base, catcher throws to pitcher, pitcher drops the ball, runner runs to second, pitcher throws to second, secondbasemen misses ball, runner runs to third, secondbasemen throws back to pither, pitcher misses ball, runner runs home.

Little League Coaches...anyone?
I am coaching my nephews team (ages 7-9) this year and having alot of fun. Was just wondering if anyone else is involved with a team? If so I have a question regarding rules. Our game tonight ended 14-7, however there were only a handful of hits between both teams and a few walks. Apparently you can have them keep running on overthrown balls or other errors. One kid got walked but due to errors ended up with a homerun! I grew up with the "one base on an overthrow" rule. This being allowed to continue running seems a bit off to me. At their age I am lucky if half the boys can even catch the ball or make a decent throw, there is going to be alot of errors. Don't get me wrong they are having fun and it isn't all about winning on my team. They were crazy excited tonight just cuz they scored a few runs. Anyway, how does this rule apply to your league? Thanks Cliff

Lamiglas Excel Rods
You will not be disappointed! I have the 7116C, 734C, 704C, and a 703C. I plan to add two more to complete my arsenal. Good warranty and made in the USA. Very sensitive in my opinion and light. I caught this bass this past weekend on the 703C ML. It handled this fish with no problem.

Its about freakin time!
I forgot to add, when this fish was boatside right as I lipped it another fish of some sort came out of it mouth. It was pretty well mangled but it was about 7-8 inches long.

The only color I ever use....pearl/chart back...the one I was using is more like pearl/kinda a little chart back left...it is pretty beat up, I have caught a ton of bass on that thing.

I finally got my first good fish for the year. I don't know the weight but she was 25 inches and about to pop!. I caught her on a Bandit 200 in about 7 feet of water. I was using a Lamiglas Excel 703 ML too, so it was a great fight. Snapped a pic, gave her a big ol kiss and released her in good health. The only fish I caught besides one white bass on the same crank. Thanks for lookin! Cliff

Any advice?
Thanks for the help guys. The wind was a bit more than I like but I went anyway. I fished around this little "bay" twice using the baits I mentioned, in that order (almost, I started with a spinnerbait). I caught one small keeper right away. I also caught a tiny little white bass on a crank. That was it, for about three hours then I started to head back to the ramp. I stopped and fished an underwater point that I learned about a couple years back but never fished. Caught one dink on a crank there. No more action after that so I headed back in. Good thing I left when I did cuz the wind really started kickin. I actually had to get knee deep to land my boat, the wind wouldn't let me close enough! There was not as many folks fishing this area as I had anticipated, I am guessing maybe the bass haven't quite moved up in there yet. temps were 61 in that area. Anyway, maybe again tomorrow, depends on the wind as usual. Thanks again. Cliff

dumbest thing you've done while fishing
This made me remember one I did in highschool. Me and a buddy were at a little farmpond fishing for bass. I was using a big popper. The entire pond had this "scum" on the surface from the shore to about 10 feet out, all the way around. So each time my bait got close to it I would flip it out and back to shore to avoid getting the "scum" on my bait. Well I flipped it really hard and back over my head. It got hung in some tall grass behind me. Instead of walking four steps and freeing it, I decide to yank super hard. After a good few yanks that thing came out going about 100 mph and right into the back of my right shoulder (sleeveless shirt). I cut the line and didn't really know what to do because I could not see it. My friend said it was in deep. So I drove to my moms work and was walking down the halls with a big lure hanging from my back. She sent me to the Doc and he ended up having to cut it out with a scalpal.

Any advice?
I am headed out in the morning. We have had the last few days in the upper 70's and lower 80's and very windy. The wind is going to be down some tomorrow (10-15 mph). I am fishing a small "bay" behind the marina where I caught my PB last spring. It is also a known spawning area so I am sure there will be others there. I have rigged and ready to fish: a jig and rage craw, spinnerbait, t-rig worm, fluke weightless, and a medium diving crank. Any other ideas to try? What would you start with? I am guessing the water temps will be in the mid 60's. I am not looking for giants here, just want to put some bass in the boat. Seems like it has been awhile since I caught more than a dink or two in one outing. Let me know what you think. Thanks Cliff

Power pro
I have used it for a couple years and never had any issues with it. I also used it to stitch up a cut in the fabric of my recliner and the seam in a pair of blue jeans, works great for that too!! Cliff

Round reels
I used to use nothing but C3's. I made the switch to LP reels due to having some hand issues. However, I still have the issues so the larger size reel wasn't the problem. I got a C4 as a gift for Christmas this past year but I haven't decided on a rod for it. They are great reels for sure.

Your first fishing boat
When I was in highschool my dad got me a 1952 (I think) 14ft row boat. It had a huge dent in it and a hole in the floor. He patched it up, banged the dent out and painted it red. Strapped on a 7.5hp Merc and it was mine. Even got the old lady next door to let me use her boat lift since her husband had passed and she didn't even have a boat anymore. I caught a ton of fish from that thing, I named it "The Red Torpedo." Sold it when I joined the Army.

Sunshine can kill you...dammit...
I have been sunburned to the point of blistering several times over the years. Last year however I did not get burned once. I finally decided to start using sunscreen. Thanks for the reminder, I need to stock up for the summer! Cliff

My wife is trying to poison me!!
I forgot to mention that I have been craving this particular sundae from DQ for a week or so now, but her being on a diet I didn't get it as to not sit and eat it in front of her. She is a good wife, even though she was lookin at me funny while I was chowin that thing down! ;D

Fluoro Questions
I have a few questions regarding this line as I have never used it. Let me start by saying I use PP on almost everything and don't really have any issues, I just want to try fluoro mainly cuz I haven't. Anyway, how is the abrasion resistance? What pound test would you recommend for flippin timber (I do alot of this and have always had #50 braid)? rocks? What applications would you use/not use it for? Knots? Castability? Memory? I did do a search and there is so much info I didn't feel like reading it all, sorry! ;D Thanks for any information. Cliff
