Hello everyone.
I'm visiting the DC area from East Tennessee, and I'm staying in Takoma Park. I've been here for a week and have a few more days to get out to fish.
I haven't had much luck on the two outings I've been on. I first went to Triadelphia reservoir and yesterday out of Riley's Lock. Both days the wind was just too much because I'm a kayak fisherman. Wind and chilly conditions made it rough yesterday at Riley's Lock.
I'm targeting smallies and largemouth and just looking for suggestions on my best options this time of year. Back home it's a good time for them, just not sure around here. When paddling around at Riley's yesterday I couldn't see much fish on my Garmin. The water was about 5-7 feet and I don't know if that's the norm out there. Seemed low to me, but that's an assumption that might be wrong.
Within 45 minutes from Takoma Park, where should I check out? Is fishing decent this time of year?
