  1. Thanks for the tip. I've seen them mentioned on YT videos.
  2. Over 60 years of fishing I've had a few. I'll post one. My neighbor and I were fishing one foggy morning on the Delaware river. At that time I had a small john boat. We were in a relatively flat section without much current. Just above Tinicum. We notice what looked like a leather boot moving across the water. About 150 yards upstream. We speculated what it was and finally decided to fire up the motor and check it out. As we got up close we could see it was a deer, swimming from NJ to PA. I guess the real estate taxes in NJ finally drove her out.
  3. Long time lurker. Finally joined. I'm in Bucks Cty but my family is from central PA so I fish there as well. I usually start the season fly fishing, mainly for trout. Last year targeting trout I hooked and landed my PB smallie of 3 lbs on Tohickan Creek near the mouth at the Delaware. My parents used to live a few miles from Penns Creek. They are now gone but I have a brother near state college so I still get up there a lot. Then once the boat ramps are in I move to bass on various lakes. Mainly Nockamixon in Bucks or Sayers in central PA. I fish the lakes in both kayaks and my 17' fishing boat. Now that I'm retired my goal is 100 days on the water in 2024. My PB LM is an 8 lber I landed in a farm pond in NJ. Unfortunately this is now a development and the pond is gone. PB smallie from Lake Erie at 6 lbs. I'm also a fly tyer and now experimenting on building my own crankbaits.

  5. Almost three years since the last contribution to this thread. Figured I'd revive it for this year. Was out on Peace Valley yesterday just get the cabin fever off and limber up the casting arm. Tossed a NED rig from shore with no success. I did see one boat down by the dam. Must have been a fun launch as the docks are still pulled. I did see some minnow activity near shore as the past few warm sunny days must have brought the water temp up a few degrees. I'll give it another two weeks and check again.
  6. Correct. I'm a retired EE with a lot of Lithium battery experience. While yo can charge LiFePo batteries with regular lead acid chargers, you won't get a full charge or get the best life from the battery.
