  1. I want them to make a 4 piece model so bad. Would love one for travel.
  2. I keep seeing this on here and youtube comments, and it makes me wonder why people are still repeating this nowadays? DC being better for windy condition was real back in 2003, for sure, but ever since SV spools were made by Daiwa, just like for skipping and flipping, it has long surpassed anything a DC system can do in windy conditions. Today i had 20-25km/h head wind all day fishing for smallies from shore, using a steez 100SH with an SV spool, and it performed so d**n well, i was kinda impressed myself because i am not the biggest fan of SV spools in general. What's your opinion/experience with both braking systems for windy conditions?
  3. The OG steez looks like a recent racing car
  4. yahoo lol not even close.
  5. still using a pixy with a px68 finnese special spool, and see no reason to ever think of changing unless i want to cast under 1/16oz which i simply don't go this low.
  6. I don't use mono for anything else but leaders when fishing topwater. For fluoro, i like it for squarebills and that's it. Give me braid to a fluoro leader all day every day.
  7. That palming side plate can't be comfy to fish all day, can it?
  8. I don't agree with this at all. Loads of people bought the TDZ, OG Steez, Metanium2013, Met MGL, 2015 Met DC, and when the newer model comes out, people get rid of their previous version, that's why there's so many on the used market, and it has nothing to do with these quality reels not sticking with their original owners. Since the conquest has had a lot of different varients, its perfectly normal for folks to sell theirs to buy a new one that Shimano tries their hardest to assure you that its superior to a conquest that was released just 2 years ago.
  9. If that's the case, then how is the Conquest still this popular? And you can very easily tell that it is a very popular platform from simply seeing how many of them are being sold on the used market. What people want is for a round reel to have a comfy "palmability", and Daiwa is simply not on the level of Shimano when it comes to comfort on their round reels.
  10. Anyone else feels like daiwa is getting run over by Shimano and their Conquest line when it comes to round reels? They used to have a bunch of awesome Millionaires like the Ringa SSS, Ringa HLC, I'ze Light, the silver Ryoga1016 and many more, but now there's just nothing worth talking about. I don't know if the 2018 Ryoga is still in production, but that thing didn't hit the way the original Ryoga and the Pluton did. Same with the Millionaire CT, it just wasn't it. Have they abandoned bass round reels?
  11. Wanted to order one of those kits for my zillion, one with the gold engraving look. But kinda expensive considering that they're just stickers.
  12. SV spools from Daiwa are much better for a beginner than anything DC. DC is very cool when you get your first reel. Use it for a year, and you'll see that its nothing but a fad. Even the noise isn't "cool" anymore when you've heard it for some time.
  13. Zillion over everything on the market. Replace all bushing by quality bearings, and you get such a banger of a reel that nothing else matters.
  14. Berkley X9 is all i use, and it is very smooth, but i am sure there are smoother lines. This one is just too d**n great price to performance ratio.
  15. Standard super glue from Gorila should hold it without any issues. Have had this done twice over the years. Just clean it with 99% alcohol before applying glue, and let the glue bond overnight.
  16. I don't own what i have no use for, so of course i don't own this exact model, but i know Quantum really well, its the brand i got into fishing with over 20 years ago. Back then, a shimano or a daiwa was too expensive if you had around $100 for a reel, but nowadays, this is far from being the case, so Quantum as a whole has no purpose to exist unless you can get their $150-200 reels for $50. Only then would i get it over something like a Tatula80.
  17. Z2020 also one of my fav, and my absolute fav "large" reel.
  18. My only experience with their warranty is sending them vision110's with broken bills. Replaced a bunch for free and no need any receipt.
  19. I wouldn't bother when the newer tatulas an the slx is a thing.
  20. I wouldn't go over 6.8 for an all around reel. Personally love 6.3 or 6.4 for the all around reel.
  21. Well of course not, but i am not referring to the more casual demographic for the simple fact that... well, i'd bet money that most of them don't even use a baitcaster, let alone a $300 baitcaster. What i am referring to are folks that don't consider spending more than $100 on a fishing reel as a waste of money, and those people are pretty vocal across the socials. Never do you hear one mention the Chronarch. This line of reels have been completely deleted from everyone conversation.
  22. Why is that? That's a pretty broad demographic. Its not like you can have a more accurate take when it comes to higher end stuff.
  23. Sunline is the Keitech of fishing line, so you go with that and forget about the rest. If Seaguar is on sale, tho, that's worth a shot as well, but not at the same price point.
  24. Forums, youtube comments and a bit on twitter.
