How shallow can you find them during the summer? Are they in 2’ of water like the guys down south are always talking about? im in far north Minnesota also, only a couple hours south for the Canada border

So can I find them up super shallow from during the whole summer? I always went up shallow during the spring but I figured most of them would move out to weedlines in 10’-12’ of water. And on our weedy lakes what areas am I looking for to throw I big jig or Texas rig? I’ve heard hard bottem areas in the weeds, or spots where two types of weeds meet. What else should I be looking for.

I’ve lived in Minnesota and fished my whole life. I just got into bass fishing a couple years back, and being from up north I assumed that the bass were in deeper water and less aggressive than the ones down south because our super clear water. I normally concentrate on deep weed lines or offshore structure, but I’ve been watching a couple videos from roland Martin when he’s in Minnesota and he fishes the same way he does down in Florida, with heavy tackle big jigs etc. which seems like a lot of fun to me. Will I have success power fishing up here? And is there any advice you can give me? Sorry if my question are ignorant

When I’m fishing in my kayak there’s not really a good way to keep my Plano boxes out of the sun. Will my tackle get damaged from being in the sun during a long day on the water?

If you could only have 2 casting rods for all your bass fishing purposes (tailored more for the norther part or the country) what action length and power would they be, and what line would you have spooled on them? If you could have three casting rods what would they be? And would it change what you picked for your first two?

I think I’ll go with the XD line because they’re cheaper

In general would you recommend the XD line from strike king or the DT like from rapala?

I’ve experimented a lot with leader and just feel that I catch less fish The best best for me is 25-30 Fluoro but they bite through that too

I fish in lakes where pike are the main predator. I can’t spend $15 on a lures because chances are high that i will loose it in the first couple hours. Any recommendations for crankbaits with diving depths of 10-20’ in the sub $8 range? I could maybe spend $10-$12 apiece for a couple but not for the vast majority.

Have any of you tried the strike king coffee spay? Is it just like the stuff they put on there rage craws? I manly want it to cover up scent not to actually attract the fish I don’t feel like I can fish with confidence when I’m worried about scent scaring the fish

So if I picked up some anise oil or megastrike could I also use it on hard baits and jigs also? And would I want to clean off my baits before I put them back in the box? Like would it leave some sort of residue at the bottom of my box? Sorry I have no knowledge about scents/fish attractants

What are the best options that I could put on my bait to mask scent? Stuff like deodorant, hand soap, any food I ate in the truck, natural human scent etc. I saw that strikeking makes a coffee spray, or a would a not so strong fish attractant like magastrike be a better option?

The reason that I posted this is because I got some cologne as a gift and put it on once while handling my rods. Im just making sure that it didn’t have any long lasting effects. I’m not saying that I put on cologne in the boat, or that I wear it in general. My ODC makes me spend a lot of time thinking about stuff like this 😂

I’m not putting on cologne in the boat, I’m just wondering if I put some on for work if it will still be a problem if I go fishing in the evening.

If someone had cologne or DEET on how long would it affect the bass? If I handled my rods and tackle with either of those on, by the next day would it all be gone?

I’ve heard a lot about scents attracting bass, but only a bit about scents repelling them. I’ve heard that some soaps, gasoline, and DEET can discourage bass from biting. I was wondering about cologne. If I put cologne on my wrists, and then went fishing a couple hours later could the smell keep some bass from biting? What about if I’m pitching and flipping where I’m handling the lure and line a lot?

Have any of you guys tried the dirty jigs Matt Allen jig head or the tactical bassin finesse jigheads? What about the strike king squadron? Would any of those work well in 3.8 or 4.8 Keitechs?

This is a 3/0 1/4oz outcast jig in a 3.75in rage swimmer Doesn’t the hook look a little small? Sorry for the bad picture

Any brand of jig head that you recommend that has options for 1/0 and 3/0 hook sizes?

Is there a specific hook size/length that works well for each certain length? I’ve hear 1/0 for 2.75in. 3/0 for 3.75in and 5/0 for 4.75in? Is this good?

What size jig heads (weight and hook size) and what size belly weight hooks (weight and hooks size) do you use for the 2.75 3.75 and 4.75 rage swimmers and Keitech swimbaits?

Are your fish highly pressured? Is that why they prefer the more silent baits?

When I’m fishing around bass that are primarily eating bluegill should I use chatterbaits and spinnerbaits with golden blades to better match the forage?

If I was to buy the combo new now how much would it be worth? And is it higher quality than the x or about the same?

I got a revo s casting combo probably about 7 years ago. I was looking for it online to see what it was worth, and to see if I could get a replacement rod because its been pretty heavily abused, but couldn’t find anything about it. Does anyone know what they cost? Or are they discontinued? And what was it worth when I bought it?
