  1. And it’s cheaper too. But how much casting distance would I gain from the t-wing?
  2. I fish clear water, normally 10 or more feet of clarity so I tie long fluoro leaders on my casting setups. I was thinking about get a daiwa tatula ct, but I’m wondering if the t-wing system would catch my leader knot ( I tie a FG). Should I not get the daiwa ( or get a fuego)? Should I tie shorter leaders? Or will the t-wing be fine?
  3. Yep I got them all for $10
  4. I picked up 5 Berkley hit sticks on clearance for $10. have any of you used them? Did I waste my money?
  5. If I was going to get a shimano is the $120-$150 range what would be the one to get?
  6. Do you recommend the t-wing or not?
  7. Here’s a quick question about the reel, I’m planning on going with a daiwa, but should I get the tatula ct, or the fuego ct? Are there any key features that I’ll get for the extra money?
  8. So I should get the FR735c and not the FR734c? Ones a 5 power and the other is a 4 power right?
  9. So should I get a cheaper rod like an arid x and the buy a nicer reel like a daiwa ct, and see if I want to upgrade the rod later?
  10. Yeah I would probably go with like a $60 rod if it wasn’t for the fact that I might flip an punch with it
  11. So you think I should save $40 and go with the dobyns? What would I gain by getting that tatula?
  12. That’s about the average day for me Yeah it’s been working well
  13. What about pads more like this? I really appreciate everyone’s help by the way. I’m teaching myself all this stuff and you guys are making it a lot easier, thanks!
  14. Do you still use a heavy rod with braid even when the vegetation is more spread out? Or would you drop down to a MH? This is generally what the pads around me look like I plan on not using too much fluoro just because I’m going to be in the grass a lot
  15. If you could only have one what would you go with? I fish mainly open areas, flipping into pads or grass lines, and I hardly ever fish docks because there’s not that many on the small lakes I fish so probably on the longer side right?
  16. So a swim jig or spinner through them, a t-rig or jig on the bottom and a frog on top? That’s how I’ve been fishing this year.
  17. Yeah it’s only a couple inches thick and right on the bottom, but other vegetation, mainly pads grows up through it, so would those pads still hold fish and be worth flipping?
  18. I know it doesn’t physically bring it up a power, but I’ve heard some guys saying that they have switched over to braid and a MH rather than fluoro and a heavy because they get similar power and a lot lighter rod
  19. Also is it true that by using braid while flipping and pitching it basically brings your rod up one power because the no stretch? Like would a 7’3 MH with braid basically be equivalent to a 7’3 H with fluoro?
  20. I fishing out of a kayak so deep cranking is a big pain so I might add that in later but not yet If I was going to have a MH with braid to a leader as my primary rod for flipping jigs and t-rigs would you recommend 7’0, 7’1, or 7’3?
  21. Do you all think it’s a good choice to have 2 MH casting rods? It’s definitely my most used rod.
  22. What about lakes that have a mat of live weeds on the bottom? A couple lakes near me have a 2-3inch thick mat of living weeds covering the whole bottom
