  1. Thanks, I think I’ll go with a braillist just because of how much I use a jig, I’ll be fine if it’s not the most versatile.
  2. So I’m hearing a lot of good things about the levante, I guess I’ll save myself the $100
  3. Was there a specific reason why you sold it? I’m picturing using it mainly for flipping/ casting jigs around deeper grass. Using it for magdrafts would be a good bonus. I’d probably stick to fishing t-rigs on a 7’3 MH/f
  4. I’m picturing using it mostly for jigs, is the Levante more moderate than you’d want to be your only jig rod? Also what about a 100 size reel? I’m picturing a zillion.
  5. I’m wondering how much the extra $100 from the Levante to the Orochi XX will get me? Specifically asking about the Braillist model. Im not terribly concerned about the price but half again as much is a big price difference. Is the braillist blank almost the same between the two? I remember hearing somewhere that the levante blank feels slightly more monderate in the Braillist.
  6. I’ve actually done something quite similar to that by accident 😂
  7. lol I meant to write into the 30s 😂
  8. I’ve heard a lot about speed cranking on YouTube but I haven’t had a chance to try it out. Guys talk about burning crankbaits on 8 speed reels in water all the way down into the 30s degrees . I figured I’d ask here and see if anyone has tried it?
  9. Fished largemouth for a few hours this afternoon. Water temps 54-56 degrees. Wasted half my day with a spinning rod and a jighead minnow staring at my graph. I know I need to get better at using my electronics, especially if I’m going to fish tournaments but man, I’m not good at it. Finally picked up a casting rod and got a few with a chatterbait right along the edge of the pads (I think they were holding to some semi green cootail). Didn’t find anything big, heck I don’t think I’ve caught a bass over 16” this whole October. Maybe the big ones were what I was looking at on the Garmin.
  10. I agree with this 1000% In the world of fishing there is so little we can control that I like to control everything that I possibly can.
  11. What there a piece of advice, an article you read, or a conversation you had that changed your fishing career for better or for worse? If so what was it?
  12. I caught them from like 2 fow to 12fow
  13. Got out for a couple hours today. Took the boat out so I got a good water temp reading, right around 59-60 degrees. I got a few on a chatterbait and a jig. Everything was in that 12-14 inch range.
  14. Oh boy the bait monkey sure likes the sound of this!
  15. Awesome, I’d love to hear about your PB.
  16. Yeh spinnerbaits can be single use around pike. Anything that’s still on the market that you recommend?
  17. @gimruiswhat spinnerbaits do you use? I don’t fish them much.
  18. I agree with this. Fish straight braid, don’t worry about it, later on if you want to tie leaders to the braid you can.
  19. If you don’t want to to the braid to leader, 15lb flouro would be good too. Seaguar invisx is good stuff. The problem is that flouro sinks so it wouldn’t be great for topwater.
  20. I’m a braid to leader guy so that’s definitely what I’d go with personally. You would have to learn to tie the FG knot though. A MH with 30lb sufix 832 did 75% maybe more of my fishing this summer. I tied a leader of 20lb Sunline sniper for everything that I didn’t want straight braid for. Works for me.
  21. Just a couple days so I doubt it will be too much of an issue, I’m mainly curious long long it would take.
  22. If you get water in your boxes from fishing in the rain etc. and close your boxes without letting them dry out, how long will it take for the hooks to rust to the point where you shouldn’t use them anymore? I know this depends on a lot of things, but what’s a rough estimate if you get a little bit of water in there? Also how to you tell if it’s just a layer of rust you can brush off or if it’s rusted to the point where you wouldn’t use it? I’m mainly asking about jig hooks, all my other hooks is just replace.
  23. Crazy how different the weather is in one state, your talking about summer when there was frost on the windshield for me this morning.
  24. I finally got back on the water this evening. I’m easing back into it and only spent a hour out there. I didn’t get a great water temp reading but I’d say somewhere between 60-65 degrees. It was chilly out there and lots of leaves were down. I picked up a few fish on a t-rig around a some green grass. I didn’t have much time to really put a pattern together but I’m glad I got few in the boat. I did have a little extra excitement, I got a short ride in my kayak from what I assume was a big pike. Im glad I got out there and I hope a can spend more time on the water next week. Any tips for finding em as the water gets colder? Down into the 50s and 40s? Follow that green grass? What happens when it’s all gone?
