  1. Is there a specific hook size/length that works well for each certain length? I’ve hear 1/0 for 2.75in. 3/0 for 3.75in and 5/0 for 4.75in? Is this good?
  2. What size jig heads (weight and hook size) and what size belly weight hooks (weight and hooks size) do you use for the 2.75 3.75 and 4.75 rage swimmers and Keitech swimbaits?
  3. Are your fish highly pressured? Is that why they prefer the more silent baits?
  4. When I’m fishing around bass that are primarily eating bluegill should I use chatterbaits and spinnerbaits with golden blades to better match the forage?
  5. If I was to buy the combo new now how much would it be worth? And is it higher quality than the x or about the same?
  6. I got a revo s casting combo probably about 7 years ago. I was looking for it online to see what it was worth, and to see if I could get a replacement rod because its been pretty heavily abused, but couldn’t find anything about it. Does anyone know what they cost? Or are they discontinued? And what was it worth when I bought it?
  7. I can’t unfortunately I think I’ll go with the tatula glass MH regular, it should be good for crankbaits and chatterbaits. I don’t have the budget for 20 rods. I normally only bring 5-6 rod with me so I don’t really have space for technique specific stuff.
  8. Thank you. I’m looking for a multi purpose rod I can you for both, and run 12-15lb fluoro. I think I’ll go with a Diawa MH glass rod of some sort
  9. Could I still use a MH crankbait rod for 3/8 and 1/2oz chatterbaits? What about the diawa tatula glass, tatula elite glass, or rebellion glass in MH?
  10. Thank you. Would a MH be a better choice than a heavy?
  11. I just watched a video where Seth Feider said that he uses a diawa tatula 7’4 heavy, regular action rod for all his crankbaits from square bills to deep divers, and that it doubles as his chatterbait rod. Would that rod be a reasonable choice for a novice crankbait fisherman like myself, who also wants a rod I could use for chatterbaits? I mean if it works for Seth it’d probably work for me right?
  12. Is the Diawa tatula 7’-7’2 medium regular that you mentioned a tatula glass rod?
  13. No im not in the metro area, im about 4 hours north from there.
  14. So for most of your moving baits you use mono? Do you ever use straight fluoro?
  15. Bass opener here is in a couple weeks and I’m re-spooling all my rods. I’m considering going to all braid and using a mono or fluoro leader. I considered all the pros of doing this like cost, versatility which is very important because I normally only bring 4 rods in the kayak, casting distance, how often I would have to change line, etc. What I’m wondering is what are the disadvantages of this? ( I can easily tie an FG knot so that’s not a problem). what techniques are not ideal for braid to a leader? And do the cons outweigh the pros? Thanks in advance
  16. Could I also use braid to a fluoro leader for crank baits? In the past I’ve always used straight fluoro.
  17. What about bass x or mojo bass? My local sporting goods store has $25 off st croix rod this week
  18. What line would I put on it? Would I want braid for top waters but straight fluoro for cranks?
  19. Is it the right choice to put braid to a fluoro leader on the MH I already have? If not, what pound straight fluoro?
  20. What action, length and power rod would complement the MH that I already have the best? Like I said I do a little bit of everything and I plan on buying more casting rods in the future.
  21. I already have medium heavy, fast action 7’ casting combo, with 30lb braid and a flouro leader and a bunch of spinning rods. I’m trying to decide what cast rod I should get next. I was thinking about getting a moderate action rod I could use for crankbaits and Chatterbaits. Should that be a good choice? And any solid options for under $150?
  22. Thank you. Can you give me some examples of some fatter, and flatter bodied crankbaits? Also what is your recommendation for lipless cranks?
  23. This is getting away from the main topic I started, but I’m wondering about how many diving depths I need. I’m planning on using the DT line and they have 4ft 6ft 8ft 10ft 14ft 16ft and 20ft diving DTs. Should I get some of each depth, or would I be fine with skipping some and just getting like 4ft 8ft 14ft and 20ft? I’ll probably end up with multiple colors of each depth at one point but I guess I’m just asking what depth I should go with first
  24. I mainly fish lakes with water clarity from 6ft to 18ft if that changes anything. Also in my area there are no shad at all.
  25. I’m replacing all my crankbaits, and I’m wondering about colors. I live in an area where the water is pretty clear and the bass eat pretty much only crawfish and bluegill. Would it be dumb of me to only get the same crawfish and bluegill patters for crankbaits from a diving depth of 4ft all the way to 20ft? Should I mix up the colors more?
