  1. I would suggest looking at Edge rods. If you can catch them on sale you can save a lot. I think they just had a 50% off sale.
  2. If you’re going for Arowana. I would think you might want to check out a stout rod. Arowana from what I’ve heard are a pretty aggressive fish. Like 2-3 foot long and hit hard and fast.
  3. If Castaic is within your drive. You might want to check out Pyramid lake. Not that far up the freeway from Castaic.
  4. If I can make a suggestion. You might want to try a black paint pen or black nail polish. Though with the nail polish. You might get questions from your girl. Be prepared.
  5. I don’t know if it’s been asked before. If so y’all can redirect me to the right place and mods can delete this. What I am wondering has anyone seen or done a definitive analysis on what color lines work or don’t work? In terms of what fish can see or don’t see.
  6. When I was fishing rivers in Washington state. A couple times I had bad snags. The first time it popped loose. The rig came back hit me square in the chest. Another time fishing the Cowlitz by the dam. I snagged. It popped loose. It came back hit me in the face. Luckily I was wearing glasses. I started using low lb leader after that.
  7. I am trying to add pics of the guides. Hopefully it works.
  8. As far as if the rod has micro guides. I am pretty new to understanding micro guides. I think the guides are micro. They are short in height, most of the guides are the same diameter and height. I am used to leaders. My fishing has been Washington state steelhead and salmon. The setup there is 5-7’ leader with corkies and yarn as the bait/ lure. The setup is kept in a pip box. Makes for easy swap outs if line breaks.
  9. I’m thinking this might have been asked a few times. To give some info on setup. I have a Kistler Argon 7’ MH and Diawa bait caster reel. I love the feel of the setup. It balances right at the hook keeper. I’m going to be bank fishing Tenn rivers mostly. Maybe some lakes. I’m thinking 30 maybe 40lb 832 main line. Texas rig 4-5”. I’m wondering about using leader or straight main line? If I go leader which would be the go to leader? What lb test? What knot to use or should I use clips?
  10. Funny you mention crawdads When I was young visiting family in Washington state. We would catch crawdads off the dock. It was fun. We used a string and bubble gum. We filled a 5 gallon bucket.
  11. Yall. Let us not feed into the rumors. We will know more in time. Let’s give our best to the friends, families, those involved in the accidents.
  12. I just got a Tatula TW 100 XHL. Should I oil it before using? Is there anything I should do to it before using it? It’s my first bait casting reel.
  13. I just got an Argon rod from Kistler. If you sign up for their emails. You get % off. I think it is something like 15% off. As for the Helium. Yall might want to check the Kistler website. I think they have them on sale. Plus the % off.
  14. I went with Tatula TW 100 left hand. I think it is a decent price and good reel. Thanks for all yall help. Much appreciated.
  15. I’m thinking of a 4-5” senko watermelon. I am thinking 30-40 lb 832 probably hi viz. cause I am old and have a time picking up what the line is doing.
