  1. We do! And there are some big ones out here too! The big girls are mostly on the island and lower mainland but the southern interior has some great largie fishing too.
  2. No worries about sounding like lecturing, water safety is very important. As far as I know, there’s nothing against bow riders here. The boat is rated for 4 people or 650lbs, 800lbs inc. gear. Me, the wife and 3 kids easily fit under the weight rating, but yes we’re over the people limit. We’ve only had 3 kids out once and now that they’ll all be bigger this year we won’t be doing it again. This is one of the things that I do now but they don’t flat and can only be secured at the back so I really have to watch/hold them when moving
  3. For our family needs the dual console setup up has to stay. We also use the boat for pleasure use so there can be up to 3 kids in the boat if we’re just cruising around and swimming. The red cushions provide seating for the kids when we’re just cruising around. The wife also likes to lay out on them when she needs a little break from fishing. I’ve considered building a locker tin between the cushioned storage spaces and cutting a hole under the middle seat or at the front to get the extra length needed but then there will be a step up/down in the middle First world problems…
  4. I have a 1989 Cajun 162ZD Adventure. As the name suggests, it’s not a true bass boat and only about 16’ long. it has quite a bit of storage for tackle and bags such things but it doesn’t have rod lockers nor is there enough room to build one in. I’ve been just kind of laying my rod on the side and bungee strapping them down and laying the ones I’m using down in the middle. It works but it can get a little cluttered and makes for transporting the rods securely a little bit sketchy.
  5. Welcome my fellow Canadian
  6. Ned rig Drop shot Walking topwater can you tell I mostly target smallies?
  7. The bulb tail also gives a bit more action than a typical turd bait.
  8. X Zone makes some good options. 2 different sizes of traditional Neds as well as some craw/creature types.
  9. I have no choice but to head south. Sadly there are no legal bass north of me so 2+ hours south is my only choice.
  10. Smith’s chromapop lenses are fantastic and the glasses come with a lifetime warranty. I’m not too sure about rx lenses though as I wear contacts.
  11. Unfortunately (or fortunately, in my eyes) that’s more of an eastern Canada thing. Around here we’re more known for certain green plant and there’s no way I’ll be shipping it anywhere 😂 thanks for the welcome Thanks for the welcome! Yes, we’re definitely more of a salmonid province. World class trout, char and salmon fishing. Unknown to most though is we have thriving bass populations in the South Okanagan, lower mainland, Vancouver Island and to a lesser extent the Kootenays
  12. I’m definitely a tale of two people depending if I’m in my kayak or the boat. I tend to be much more patient when kayak fishing and will pick areas apart quite thoroughly. When I’m in the boat I much more impatient, probably because it’s so easy to move along. That said, I think I need to take my kayak approach to my boat outings as I’ve historically been much more successful, at least numbers wise from the kayak
  13. Small world! I’m near Vernon so not too far from there. Actually bought boat from a guy in Salmon Arm
  14. With the exception of walking topwater baits in the summer I typically gravitate towards finesse techniques so this year I want to try to round out my game by throwing more moving baits jerkbaits and swimbaits in particular
  15. Hey everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster… I’m from the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia Canada. I mainly target Smallies but get into largemouth from time to time. I used to be a kayak fisher (Old Town Sportsman 106pdl) but just finished my first season in a new to me boat (Cajun 162ZD Adventure) and it’s been a learning experience to say the least. Love the forum and all the information, tips and tricks and the personalities here. Hope to join in on the discussions!
