would the 6'6 medium St Croix mojo be good for top water as poppers and smaller spooks?

Just wondering how much these to reels are alike. They have somewhat similar look. But how close are they compared in casting distance?

Just wondering if any of you use a fast or just a mod action for these two setups. I was just thinking that you wouldnt want a fast or extra on a topwater that way you would give the fish plenty of time to eat the bait. What is everyone's opinion on these two setups?

Just curious i was reading in the Bass Pro Catalog and they said the All Star Rods have a IM 10 Blank. Are these rods pretty sinsitive for Trig,CRig,Football jig? Was looking at the Big Boy rods.

that st croix what series is that and what does it retail?

i usually use 12 for both spinnerbait and topwater. But i do use 15 sometimes for throwing spooks.

if im throwing mono it is usually 90% Triline Big Game other 10% is P Line CXX.

So im trying to narrow it down to these to rod companies for my football jig rod. Im either wanting the Powell 734 which is the 7'3 Heavy or the Kistler Magnesium 7'3 MH. Can anyone tell me which rod would be better for throwing football jigs in a 1/2-3/4 ounce?

this year i have been using P Line CXX and like it in the 8lb for jerkbaits.

i think the 7'3 magnesium would work really good to and possibly even a carolina rig.

the 7'6 carrot should work really good for that. Should have plenty of backbone.

ya 1/2 to 3/4 is what i throw and like i said i fish them here anywhere from 5 to 25 foot deep.

Im thinking about getting a rod pretty much just for football jigs and maybe carolina rigging. Kilstler has the Magnesium in a 7'3 MH would this rod be heavy enough for throwing football jigs. Also was looking at Carrot stick in a 7'3. Wanting something that has plenty of backbone for deep fishing. Here where i live we fish football jigs up to 25 foot deep. My other question is how sinsitive is the kistler magnesium?

Im having a hard time finding a flipping jig that i like. Im thinking of buying a mold and pouring my own since i cant find one that i really like. Looking for a good flipping jig in a 1/2 ounce. What is everyones favorite jig to flip in anything from brush to docks and even bluffs.

i like the ones that i make already catching fish on them this year. It dont hurt as bad when you loose one to cause i make them and have plenty.

football jig, crankbait, T Rig with a big worm.

i use power pro. And currently my flipping reel is a Quantum Accurist.

i picked up one of the mojo's in the store the other day with a reel on it. Now this was a spinning outfit but it didnt seem tip heavy at all it felt pretty good to me im thinking about getting one in a 6'6 casting for top water and testing it out.

anyone know how the fishing is going down there right now?
