They tear up holes in lips and the tips roll quickly. I would stay away from these. For me is Hayabusa and Ryugi. Some Owner. Never Gamakatsu, Eagle Claw or any other low quality hook.

As a Daiwa fan and a full-Eva grip fan, this is right down my alley. But I’m not fully convinced on the lengths and actions. I feel rods keep getting longer and longer every year. I liked it when a standard utility rod was 6’6” MHF.

Bought the line from a reputable online Sunline dealer. Maybe I’m just losing my marbles. But this post-2024 line is 100% different.

I have used FC Sniper for years. In November I purchased a couple of 600 yard spools of 16lb and 20lb Sniper. The line feels different than years past. It’s more brittle and less supple. The 16lb I have to re-tie every fish. It abrades way quicker than normal and snaps. Lost several fish over the past couple months. Sometimes after a fish wears a fresh line, I can snap it easily with my fingers. This had never happened before. Am I crazy? Anybody else having the same issue? Did they change the resin formula or process? Or did they switch their resin vendor? I am befuddled.

Been running 60# Sunline FX2 on my frog rod for a couple months. It is extremely coarse for a 8-carrier braid, but not noisy at all coming through the guides. It cuts pads just as good as Powerpro without the constant humming of 4-carrier braid. This stuff is tug-rope tough.

Some reels are just geary. In the early 2010s I ran a full deck of Shimanos. 200E7 Curados and Citicas. Every single one got geary almost instantly out of the box. Grease makes it feel better for a bit, but then it goes back to being loud and clunky. It won't affect the performance in most cases, you just have to live with the noise. I can't speak to more modern Shimanos. Technology has come a long way. I remember back then Shimanos had centrifugal brakes that you had to remove the side plate to adjust. What a pain. Have not owned a geary reel since selling those Shimanos.

I own the following: 7'0" M-F 7'0" M-F (G) 7'0" MH-F 7'3" H-F 7'0" MH-F Spinning They are amazing rods for the price. Light, sensitive and really well balanced. They follow line with most Daiwa rods that can be much stiffer than other brands. They are on my deck most of the time, and use them interchangeably with Rebellions. For the XTs, I like all their 7'0" models, but would not recommend the 7'3", 7'4" and 7'6" Heavy models. They are too tip heavy and absolute broom sticks. The 7'3"MH-F is also quite heavy at the tip.
