Tournament ethics?
Guess that gives a whole new meaning to "dock Fishing! > I'll give this technique the middle finger, or should I be polite and just give it a thumbs down?

fish growth
I just did some checking around and pretty much verified what I thought I had read in the past. If you would like an over all average, it"s about 1 lb per year. However like has already been mentioned there are lots of factors that will cause that to vary considerably. If you would like to type in the search term on google growth rate large mouthbass and you will have several choices of sites that have a lot of sientific info.

Big Bass Tournaments (One Fish)
Wow, That kind of field brings back some real memories, though only about 190 boats. Just remember that any day on the water is a fine day, and sure beats even the best day at work. Your still young, I'm sure you'll have many more chances, and your turn in the spot light. Just give it 150% and you'll get there! PS My daughter lives in Houston. Next time I visit I'll let you know.

Big Bass Tournaments (One Fish)
Been in this situation a couple of times in South carolina, Santee Cooper, and everytime I got near the main creek channel I'd throw a big crank deep diver right down the middle of the channel. Got a couple of 7 lb'rs that way. Choose the style and color you have the most confidence in, but for murky waters my two color choices are dark reds and black; or depending on their mood try a bright chartruse. Keep a rod rigged with one of these while your wormin' the cypress stands! Good luck!

Interested in other's opinions here.....`
I believe both methods have their own advantages and plus sides. However the disadvantages and downsides come into play when either is taken to the extreme. The extremes will probably cost you time (if you slow down too much) and plenty of money (if you run too much) . :-/

night fishin??
Couldn't help but realize there is a missing element of safety. If you'r using top water, be sure to do your hook sets low, hard, and to the side. Flying lures at night are worse than the boggie man or the bats!

Something bit my Senko in half!
Over the years, I've had a couple of 12 lb Snapping Turtles do the same thing! :-?

Makes me sick.
Before I will fish with someone I don't know, I'll ask 1 question: "If you catch a 5 lb Plus bass, would you have a problem letting it go"? I the answer is yes, then "You Ain't fishin' with me"! >
