them Arkie Crawler things are killer. i wish my walmart carried them still.

Been A While
thanks guys! the hook is a jig hook epoxied into the back of the bait, i got the picture from another lure builder, and the fins are an experimental design that i came up with (i've never seen them made like this before) and i'm not ready to reveal them yet. maybe after some hard testing, but not yet.

Been A While
i intended it for more of a sight fishing bait for bedding bass, so i made it so it sits sharply nose up. i'm not sure if it will have any "action" at all, it will be more of a jigging bed bait. but who knows, i've been suprised at the retrieving action of several of my baits.

Been A While

Favortie movies you wouldn't admit to a fishin' buddy
had to watch that movie in 9th grade english... HATED it the acting was terrible and the entire idea of modernizing shakespeare while keeping old english speak is retarded.

My first attempt
i say you seal the bait and go test it, see if you're satisfied with the action it has. if not you could try adding a lip. that seems like it would be easier than trying to relocate already installed ballast weights.

store bought food for bluegill/sunfish
add one more store-bought food to the list: shredded cheddar cheese! we just had tacos for dinner and i thought, "hmmm i wonder if my fish would eat cheese?" i figured they would because it is very easy to spot, and its got a soft texture, and sure enough my bluegill and pumpkinseed were all over that cheese!

store bought food for bluegill/sunfish
oh yeah, i forgot about my bluegill that i have up in my room. he is only about 1" long, and i think that since i caught him so small, he hasn't really been accustomed to eating live food in the wild, so i quickly got him trained to eat flake food.

PETA's At It Again
glenn, the way i see it, even if they are getting the media attention they desire (most media is pointing out how crazy and stupid they are though), hardly ANYONE takes them seriously, and CERTAINLY no one on the bass resource forums.

store bought food for bluegill/sunfish
mine doesn't like dry food, except freeze dried bloodworms. he will eat flakes reluctantly but will spit them out. my bluegill really likes to eat: earthworms frozen bloodworms freeze dried bloodworms and frozen tuna (this one's real convienent because i can open a can of tuna, drain it, stick it in a bag in the freezer and have lots of food that lasts for months.) my bluegill will jump out of the water over frozen tuna! i just take tweezers and break off little bite size pieces of the tuna and either stick it in the water or make him jump for food

In The Spirit Of The Grammy's
just checked grammy.com and metallica won: best metal performance with their song "My Apocalypse" best recording package with their album "Death Magnetic" and the producer of their Death Magnetic album won best producer, non-classical BOOYAHHHHH SAM!

In The Spirit Of The Grammy's
i thought someone at school told me today that they won best rock (or metal?) performance for their song "My Apocalypse"?

Okeechobee Fats 1200 tackle bag
i think they're only at walmart. are you sure they stopped carrying them for good, not just that their current stock is out and they might be getting a shipment soon?

Rapala DT-FAT 01
oh crap! for some reason i thought bass pro's website was bps.com......my mistake: www.basspro.com i didnt buy the sureset version (because i dont think they're worth an extra 2 bucks) BUT i do really like the sureset hooks. as someone else suggested, take that front sureset off and put it on the rear of a different crankbait and put a regular trebel in the front of your DT. this is what i do with ALL my sureset baits. the sureset in the front isn't that useful but the one in the rear is great. Marty, when i say fat i mean FAT! this thing is fat all around, wide, tall, long, and very round. they are MUCH better, like CRAZY better than the mann's baby -1. i've never liked those mann's cranks, just crappy quality all around. they don't even run good for me. i can tell already just from holding them these DT FAT 01's are gonna be great baits.

Rapala DT-FAT 01
saw these in a tackle tour article awhile ago. the article was about some new baits rapala was about to introduce ( including the DT 20, clackin rap, and shallow xrap shad). so far the only bait from the article i'd seen available was the clackin rap. i finally saw the DT-FAT 01's for sale on www.bps.com and bought two. got em today and they look killer! much fatter than the DT-FAT 03, and WAY fatter than any other DT. can't wait to use them in the spring! only complaint... they don't have the high pitched rattle that the DT-FAT 03's have.
