  1. Rapala Skitter Prop.....how do you guys fish em?
  2. haha yeah i did! thats a really funny one.
  3. looks like it might be too late but i was gonna reccomend the shimano citica from delos :
  4. i got two cabelas rod sleeves and two cabelas reel covers for xmas. theyre both good products.
  5. thats weird. does it have a fast float or does it slowly rise to the surface. cuz ive had baits that slowly ease up before that were supposed to suspend. maybe it has to do with the water temp? arent baits that suspend supposed to be used in a certain temp that will make them suspend the best?
  6. yeah i was gonna say....rapala has a DT-Flat that dives to 3 feet. i should probably get one of those : http://www.rapala.com/products/luresdetail.cfm?modelName=dives-to_flat_series&freshorsalt=Fresh
  7. the xrap shad suspends too....all of the xraps suspend. i just got one of the smaller sizes in olive green color and it looks amazing. i cant wait to try this out. trig, how come yours doesnt have a dressed treble? did you take it off?
  8. they fancy ones arent made to be fished. you'll notice that on some of the more simple ones it wil say "fishable" somewhere. these are ones that are still realistic but are not as complex and delicate as the ones that are just for show. the fishable realistics will last as many fish as any other fly.
  9. i snagged some rapalas, zoom worms, and strike king sb's today and got 20% off each item
  10. nice baits but i cant justify paying that much for a lure that will catch bass just as good as my $6 rapalas. :-/
  11. fourbizz.....you look like james hetfield from metallica...anyone ever tell you that? lol. nice fish. i havent fished the mission fish but its a pretty well known and proven swimbait.
  12. the body is actually yarn, but i soaked it in clear fingernail polish and then lit it on fire so that it would be hard and smooth (got rid of the fuzzies) and the head is just thread wraps built up.
  13. brad thats a real nice tactic i might have to try that!
  14. 1. i get my rabbit fur from janns netcraft 2. your most likely gonna need a fly tying kit to put together the jigs i make
  15. that guy does very nice work. i tried to follow the step by step for the house flies but it didnt work. i was talking to him once and he said that he was actually contacted by a movie producer and the producer said that they were going to do a scene where the character was staring at dead houseflies in a jar of honey, but they werent allowed to use real houseflies, so they asked him to make them some replicas to use and he made them for the movie:) hes got some great stuff on there. heres a yellow jacket that i made once:
  16. robert, is that thing even a scale? looks like its just a lip grip. i use a cheesy rapala 15lb digital scale. its accurate to some amount. my dad and i preformed "lab tests" on it by weighing freeweights of various sizes and the results were strange....every time for each different weight it came up 4oz. shy. is that weird? i thought it was.
  17. jerks, pauses, and long stops....just keep it random. 8-) good luck!
  18. lol i got the xrap shad at dicks. the walmart did have a saltwater xrap though.
  19. the bait monkey let me off the hook today! i went to walmart and dicks and only ended up with 7 things fishing related. i got a rapala skitterwalk, rapala skitter prop, rapala x-rap shad, zoom ole' monsters, gamakatsu 2/0 ewgs, and two strike king premimum spinnerbaits. all in all its good stuff but man i was having a really hard time picking out stuff to buy!
  20. wow there are so many options! i was hoping that most everybody would say the same one but i guess i was wrong so far the popular ones seem to be the bronzeye and the tournament/bobbys' perfect frog. what conditions dictate when to use a hollow frog instead of some other topwater lures?
  21. oh man this one couldnt be better
  22. i might have to look for that floating cane toad. i like the hook up ratios of soft plastic frogs, and i also like how that one floats...because the one thing i dont like about soft ones is that they sink when paused. i might just have to look for some of these and pick em up if i see em!
